Hi I'm new here at 3FC and I just wanted to say hello. I have been "lurking" and reading posts for a while and I decided it was time to finally post. I find the support and positive attitude very inspiring! I am currently at 160 lbs and I would like to lose 35 lbs to put me at 125 lbs. I am a healthy eater and excerciser most of the time... as I love fruits and vegetables and foods that are good for you... but my major downfalls are definately overeating at night (especially while studying) and each too large of portions. I am a university student so I especially find it difficult to maintain a healthy lifestyle during high-stress midterms and finals. I have progressively gained about 15 lbs since September and it seems as if every week I resolve to myself to finally lose the weight. However, I have been so inconsistent with my eating/excercising that each attempt only lasts a few days. I really want to finally lose the weight and lead a CONSISTENTLY healthy life... not one that just lasts a few days. I am starting to get tired of starting over so many times... it emotionally exhausting after a while! I also think I have a very "its all or nothing attitude", as once I eat one "bad" thing I think the day is ruined and I might as well eat more. So here I am publicly resolving to start my weight loss journey and to understand that it takes time and the pounds wont just dissappear overnight.
I apologize that this is sort of wordy... just getting it all out there. Thanks for your support-I really appreciate it!

it's not wordy, it's probably one of the shortest intro's I've seen. I'm Tracy, and you'll get to know most of the people here within a week. Are you following any specific diet? A lot of us count calories and just log it on fitday. It works for most because it shows what goes in, the breakdown of where it's coming from and can help plan your meals through the day. I completely understand the issues with portion control too, it's so hard when it tastes so good. Just post everything you feel, get those emotions out. I just joined January 8th and immediately had so much support. You can also talk to people on messengers if you use them. The weekly chat is pretty much where we go to let things out and tell others our views or comment on what they're going through. You can also use the daily planning thread to go ahead and tell everyone your food and exercise plan for the day, and then you might find yourself less likely to stray.

You will find tons of support here. We all understand what you're going through!
Everyone here is wonderful and I'm sure you'll find lots of support (I know I have). Feel free to jump right in and start posting.
being sent your way!
