Qs- AHH! Warm H20 makes me sleeping! And cold makes me pee!

  • It would seem everybody I ask has a different opinion about the water needs to be drunk to effectively lose weight and hydrate yourself- This one question, however drives me insane! Is it best to drink water that is room temperature or ice water? I was told it is best to drink room temperature water because it is easier for your body to absorb and cold water runs straight through you. I was also told that ice water is the best to drink because your body has to work twice as hard to warm it up before it is usable. Which is it? Warm water makes me a little sleepy and cold cold water makes me have to pee quicker. So hmmm...

*Pardon the error in the title- I guess warm water really DOES make me sleepy(ing). lol
  • Drink whatever temperature you water you like best! Water is water, and if you're drinking water, who cares how warm or cold it is?

I have heard, too, that ice water makes your body burn a few more calories, but in all honesty, I'm 99% sure it's not enough additional calories burned to make a noticeable difference.
  • I agree with Jill. I drink my water room temp....because for me it just goes down easier that way. I never drink as much as I should, so just drinking it how I like it is the only way I'll get it in! I think just drink it how you prefer.
  • I've also heard that drinking ice cold water helps you burn more calories, but also I agree that you should drink it whatever way helps you to drink more of it! I personally like it ice cold, so if it helps me burn more calories- great! If not, I'm still drinking water!!
