I can recommend.......

  • I expect there's stuff we all buy on a regular basis or have tried and really enjoyed... so lets share:

    My latest favourites are.....

Diet Doctor's Mixed Grain bagel (187 cals) split and spread with 50g Philadelphia Lite (77 cals) and a few chopped grapes

Sainsbury's Taste the Difference Porridge Oats - definitely worth the extra few pence.

    Twinnings Cherry & Cinnamon tea

Frozen blueberries - any make or brand
  • Ooooh yes I get those bagels - they are always on offer in Tesco! I have about 4 bags in the freezer...

Also Healthy Living (Tesco) bacon medallions - you can get them smoked or unsmoked. 30 kcals a rasher and hardly any fat and about 50% less salt than regular bacon.

Erm... Kashi cereals are good, also Total 0% greek yoghurt

Also for protein freaks - you can buy Supercook powdered egg whites, 2 egg whites per sachet. I've never managed to whip them to any egg like consistency but I do just whizz them with the right amount of water and a whole egg for some scrambly eggs or omlette.

Splenda and Options are also on my diet favourites list. I'm trying to cut down on the Splenda but I figure I've probably already eaten enough horrid artificial sweetners when I was a child. I remember drinking gallons of Diet Coke with Nutrasweet in! I used to drink about 6 cans a day! and I'd leave them all over the house half finished! I was such a greedy thing!
  • Ooh - add me to the bagel fan list. Do grapes really work? Would never have thought of those.

I'm a massive fan of mattessons turkey rashers 925 cals each) and I like the dolmio express spicy chilli sachets which are really low cal - i'm a dead lazy cook.

Sweet wise i'm a biscuit freak and I still can't find anything to beat WW's cranberry and orange biscuits and their truly excellent flap jacks.
  • I love the bagels too, and the grapes go great with the soft cheese. They have the same bagels with cranberries in now too which are really nice.

One of my favourites has to be the Alpen Light bars, lovely if you fancy a nice sweet treat!
  • Grapes go great with bagels - either green or red (or even those big black ones) - I also like the bagels and Phily with a few little bits of pineapple.

    to Bits
  • I'm liking the grape ideas!

Sainsburys stock Discovery Gluten Free tortillas which only have 37 calories each and are lovely either used as a wrap, enchilada style or layered with peppers, onions and refried beans as a vegetable 'lasagne style' pice.

    Oh and M&S yoghurts!
  • Ooohhhhh Clareh - thanks for that - I'm going to add some of those tortillas to my next Sainsbury order!
  • Sainsbury don't have the gluten free tortillas as an option on their website

I'll get DH to pop in and get some.
  • How could I have forgotten? M & S count on us chocolate muffin puddings - divine - 150 cals. Also Lidl hazlenut cereal bars - 107 each but really take the edge off a sweet craving.
  • Sainsbury Be Good To Yourself 9% fat cream. It tastes just like normal single cream AND you can use it in cooking (it doesn't split).

It cost 50p for a 284ml carton (same as normal single cream) and it has 109 calories per 100ml. (Normal single cream has 186 calories per 100ml.)
  • I love those Go Ahead Slices (the ones where you get 3 in a pack) with yogurt icing yum yum.
  • The WW treats, the chocolate roll kind, the caramel/chocolate bar thing, and the cherry bakewells. Yum!
But........they are BIG problem foods for me because I tend to like to eat a whole box in one sitting.....
  • I like the Go Ahead Forest Fruit Yoghurt Breaks. They're 68 calories per slice and you get 2 slices in each packet. Yum!

Also, I put grapes in the freezer, so that when I'm really needing something sweet, I can have some frozen grapes. They're lovely to suck but if you bite them they sometimes hurt your teeth
  • Don't know if they have them at home but if you're an ice cream lover, there's ice cream bars called Skinny Cow here and they work out at two points, maybe it's one, haven't had them in a while, but they're a really good size and you don't feel like you've been gipped...very tasty too.
  • Skinny Cows are the best invention, they are so filling.
