Hallo everyone!

I hope you guys enjoyed your weekend and am ready for a new week.

More than a year a go my direct boss (senior buyer) went on pension and I had to take over his responsibilities until they found someone to replace him. (I could not apply for the position because of a diversity policy (my skin colour is wrong) I was not allowed to claim acting allowance because of the financial state of the company. My husband and I discussed it and decided that it will be good things because I will get allot of experience and exposure. Now some of the people in my office complained about the fact that I am a white female, only a buyer, and have people reporting to me, while there is a new senior buyer in the office who has no personnel reporting to him.. Anyway to make a long story short on Friday I was told that I don’t have to act in the senior position anymore and now have to report to the new senior buyer. I am really relieved because I was getting fed up with all the personnel nonsense that I had to deal with every day, now it is somebody else’s responsibility and I can do what I am paid for. It is just a pity that always when something is not going the way the majority of people in the office like it, it becomes a racial issue. I hope I did not offend anyone, that is not my intention I just had to get it off my chess.

Anyway I took some pictures on Saturday afternoon now you can see what I look like today not 12 years ago.

MamaJ – with a loving and caring mom like you, your daughter will survive anything that comes her way, I bed she will be a much stronger person after this. She will be in my prayers.

Pooky and Tippy thanks for charring that with us, it really made me think. I used to eat when I was sad and eat again to celebrate the fact that everything is going okay again. I think deep down inside me I used to comfort myself with food because I can’t have any children of my own. But today I am over it and have to take responsibility of my own life, I want to loose the weight.

Tippy and Pooky, I want to say thanks to you guys too. For me, getting my feelings out is a huge issue. Identifying the feeling is often very difficult for me....kind of a numb feeling.

Chickadee, since I have been wearing your Wicked Witch of the Eastern Division Costume (that would make us sisters right?) those bums the Yankees have been doing ok! Perhaps you and I could get together and sweep Debkay....I mean...take her to lunch or something eh?

Been fighting a sinus infection for the past few days and finally feel better today. How come I did not know that I was suppose to take the claritin every day whether or not I felt bad or not...BIG duh on my part!!!! NOW I know better!!!

Going to take Jiff and mom to the craft store today...HEY POOKY!!!!! wannna come with??????? Sure wish you lived closer...we could rent a shed or something for all our craft crap...I mean supplies!!!!!

I am going to do a bit of sanding before the little guys get up!!!

I just sent hubby off to his office and I'm planning my day. It is just the usual stuff, plus I have a Board of Evangelist meeting this afternoon. ( They take the foulest mouthed old broad in the congregation and put her on THIS board????)
Since my visit to the hospital, I'm learning what is important in life! I relaxed on the dieting over the weekend, but I also realized that I eat out of habit not hunger. I really don't have much of an appetite, but I eat cause it is time to eat. How silly! Am going to work on recognizing real hunger.
Health wise, I am still sensitive to every twinge, but I'm sleeping better than I have in months. I have energy where before every task was like a mountain to climb. I think that my heart hasn't been working well for a long time and I didn't realize it.
So chickies, I'm off to conquer the world...or at least the housework. God bless!

Hensa, you are absolutely breathtaking, did you ever model? As for your job problems, I wouldn't doubt that things become racial quite fast in South Africa! You know it's really not that much different over here...

Tippy, take really good care of yourself, eh? Your heart is nothing to mess with and if that wasn't a serious wake up call to low carbing, I don't know what is! I'll be praying for you!

As for myself, I have felt pretty relaxed the last couple of days. Whenever I feel sad or like a can't do anything I just think of what my dh told me--I am NOT a failure! Doing better, but still not strictly OP yet. Lots to do today, housework, some stuff to send in the mail, yard work--had a storm last night and my lawn looks frightening!

Wow! A blue and gold October morning! You chicks are here! And folks seem to be Up this a.m. Glad to see the sickies are going away for everyone.

Harry is off to the gym so Hershey and I have a few hours to ourselves. I have some herbs to strip and dry or freeze (rosemary, sage and bay) and will do some raking under the big pine tree in the middle yard. I like to get the pine needles out of the way before the leaves come down - makes for much easier poop patrol.

This afternoon, we will go to the Office - I am nearly ready for the Audit! Just a bit more verification to do and I can hand it over! I have a chicken and peppers casserole ready to pop in the oven for dinner with a baked potato for Himself - I love having dinner ready before 8:30 a.m.

Got some bad news from my sister Joan this weekend. She has a heart problem! We cannot believe this as she works out, eats right, doesn't smoke, drinks only a bit and has no real worries. She also is a reasonable weight. She has been going around with chest pains for a few months which she ignored - sound familiar, chickies? Anyhow, lousy timing as she moves from Ottawa to Kingston tomorrow and will have to change doctors.

My scale is still stuck and I know why. I have been keeping track of those darn "extras" and am amazed at how many there are. These are the ones I remember - must be others. What really annoys me is that I can sneak in this stuff and stay the same weight. Imagine what would happen if I stuck to plan. So today - no extras!

Good morning one and all--trying to find my energy. must be buried underneath all the junk laying around the house.

Have many gardening things to get done today as we're expected to get a hard freeze tonight. Hate to see my plants go as they're just now starting to look beautiful after all the summer heat and draught--same as me!!! right??

Been dealing w/ issues of anger for my selfhelp project--after i blew up at miss rosie , the cat, i knew i was in deep do-do. Figure i must have been angry all my life because i can never remember not feeling it but i didn't know that's what it was at the time. Am reading a wonderful book called Female Rage and i'm just getting to a chaper called The Inner World of Rage and it deals w/ being fat, compulsaive eating, etc. It's difficult going as i keep crying as i read and--it's helping me know i'm not really crazy after all. I do a lot of journal writing as i read.

Hi Girls! Surprise--it hasn't been like 3 weeks between posts!!! Had a terrible weekend for eating--ate everything in sight!!! Stress is really getting to me--not sleeping well at all and then this weekend eating disaster. I am back on board today so hopefully no major damage. I think it will get better once this football season is over==3 more games in 8 days-2 fresh/soph and 1 varsity. Two of the games are against a highschool with a BIG enrollment and BIG linemen--my son weighs in at 142 and these guys are 280...... I am definitely ready for basketball season. My son's team lost Friday 12-6 so they will not be in the playoffs. He did have an interception so he is tied with a senior for most interceptions this season.

Carolk--sounds like you are taking steps in the right direction--that book sounds really good--make sure you let us know what it says.

Ruth--sorry to hear about your sister. Hugs to you!

Pooky--I read your post from the weekend -- sending you my thoughts and prayers. Your husband sounds like a great guy and will be a great support for you. Take care.

Jenny, we had a rainy weekend too and I think it set the tone for the way I behaved!! I should have gotten out there and planted tulips like you did--I love those things in the spring!

Tippy, good luck at your meeting. I would probably be like you with the twinges too--I think that seems perfectly natural. Take care of yourself.

Happy Monday!
As I type this, my daughter's new kitty is sitting on my shoulder watching. She's so cute - about 9 weeks old and into everything. Of course, even though DD promised she'd do absolutely everything for the kitten, I do my share of kitty-sitting. Rumpleteazer (that's the kitty) sleeps in DD's room and is quite active during the night. I keep telling DD that it's way worse with a real baby. Maybe this would be great birth-control when she's older? Just a thought
Hensa You have the nicest smile. Hopefully your work will be less stressful and everyone will get to see it more often now.
Carolk Who wrote the book? I would be really interested in reading it. Sometimes I think I may have a lot of unacknowledged anger that keeps me from being my best.
Peachie Sweetie, I've always known we are sisters! And, being family and all, there's another issue on which we are going to have to disagree (you too Sister Debkay!) Now that my beloved Rockies are completely out of the picture (not like they weren't from the start!), the Arizona Diamondbacks are my boys. So, come World Series, those snakes will rule, leaving the Yankees, Braves and whoever else challenges in the desert dust!
As for me, I helped my pack-rat, junk-loving husband move crap around all weekend and my back is a-hurtin'. It feels like there's a kink shaped like a paper clip in there. Have you ever heard of someone building a barn and filling it up before it's even sided? Sigh...

Good afternoon to all!

Busy day at work! Had a pretty good weekend. Spent lots of time with the kids, they are growing up to fast. I am starting over yet again today. We shall see how it goes.

Hi everybody.
This morning I went to the pool, even though everyone I usually go with had other priorities today. Ran into a lady I see there quite frequently so had somebody to chat with while doing my water jogging. Then I swam a few laps (well 2-1/2 just barely) and soaked in the hot tub for a while. I had a lot of errands to run today and just got back a while ago to a late lunch. Don't you hate when that happens? Throws me off for the whole day and I've been snacking (OP snacks) ever since.
I'm supposed to go for a walk with my neighbor in a little while so I'd better get my shoes back on.
I got to thinking about what fit people do and don't do. I'm sure they don't say to themselves "Well, I swam today so I can't walk" or "I worked in the garden this morning so I can't swim tonight", they just keep themselves active without thinking twice about it. I'm going to try to be more like that.
No time for a special note to every one but you all know I luvs ya.
