Newbie with a birthday goal

  • Hi everyone!

I picked up the 3fc's book and thought this would be a great place to start on my weight loss adventure. So here's all about me.

    Long ago...

...I was much thinner. In HS I weighted 155 and was a size 10. A few years out of HS I started walking a lot (mostly due to boredom) and I was down to 130. I might add that this actually wasn't too attractive as I wasn't eating well at the time. I gained all of the 25 lbs back as soon as I started working long hours (job located next to several fast food restaurants), but then more weight came after that. During this time I also lost several close family members and ate myself into an oblivion. I topped out at 230lbs (I'm 5'5".) Over the years I have lost some and gained some and now I'm at 216. My most recent gain was due to the comfort that comes from getting married.

I have no illusions about getting back to what I was in HS, but I have set my goal at 165 because I believe that I would be a size 12 at that weight. So that is my goal; to be a size 12 (I'm an 18 at the moment.) I will be changing decades on my next birthday so I would like to have accomplished most of my weight loss by my birthday which is in July. I think 51lbs maybe too much to lose in less than 7 months so I think I would like to be down to 180 by my birthday. Who knows; maybe with everyones help I can surpass this goal.
  • welcome you can do it!!!!
  • I read your story cause I have a burthday goal as well; my birthday is not till November but I will be 40 then and I have decided that I do not want to be fat and 40!! I was an active dieter and memebr of fat chicks about four years ago and I lost 30 lbs and was really looking good; then somehow I lost motivation which is not hard for me to do! I am a junk food eater!! Love food! And also am a secret eater!! I have struggled and struggled with weight and as I get older I know I need to loose for my health not just my appearance...at any rate I am back and am going to give this one more shot! Here's hoping you the best & me as well!
