Okay - so I joined WW last week. I was told that my target points should be 23 points a day. My confusion comes in here. I am not eating anymore or less than what I did before I started weight watchers - but I am really having a hard time hitting the 23 point mark. Is it okay to be under points consistently? Whats the lowest number of points that I should be eating a day? If I need more points, should I eat until I reach 23 or what (this morning I added an ounce of cheese hoping to get to 23)?
It is definitely not okay to be under your daily points. Post a day's menu so we can see what you actually eat, the quantities. Being new you might not be calculating the points correctly for your portions.
Like Quilter said those are your MINIMUM a day to meet. You need to meeting this to keep your body from slowing the metabolism.
If you follow the 8 Good Health Guidelines then you really shouldn't ever fall below the minimum.
I mean the dairy requirement is 4-6 points minimum and the healthy oil requirement is 2 points.
Right there is 6-8 points off your 23 leaving you with 15-17 points for the rest of the healthy carbs, protein and fruits and veggies. Not counting any extras you want/need.
Rose, I hope that is a compliment. LOL! What I do is start off in my journal and mark off my oils and dairy right away...then plan around what is left, APs and FPs.
