For those of you that didn't know . . . . I'm adopting a baby from Vietnam. Yesterday, I received my referral (assignment) of a baby girl. I'll spare you the details of my hysterical reaction ( I really didn't expect it so soon!).

Vietnamese name: Nguyen Thi Mai (Mai is her first name)
Birthdate: June 17, 2006
Place of birth: Hanoi, Vietnam
Weight at birth: 6.6 pounds
Weight as of Oct 16th (medical exam): 10 lbs
Length (10/16): 23 inches
General health: good, everything normal

Her new name: Josephine (Josie) Mai Carroll (Ha! We have the same initials. Just realized that. Sorry. Moving on . . . .)

So-she is currently 6 1/2 months old. It will likely take about 3 months before I get to travel to Vietnam to pick her up-putting travel hopefully late March or early April.

Thanks you guys! I think she's pretty cute too . . .ans yes-things have happened really fast-mainly due to the new process that's ahead. They're trying to squeeze as many of us in before it happens.
