Exercising then hungry

  • OK so i know it's normal when you exercise to feel hungry but i finished exercising around 30 minutes ago and my stomach feels hungry. i know i should drink more water and that that would fill me up a bit more but what can I do to stop this?
  • You should eat within 2 hours of exercising anyways to help recovery. A little protein and a little carbohydrate and you'll be set. The body recovers (takes in carbs and proteins) 150% faster in those 2 hours after exercise.
  • For me that's the best thing about exercising, feeling like I've worked up an appetite and earned my meal If you're worried about overeating, would it be possible to juggle your mealtimes round so that you have something planned for soon after your workout. If you usually work out in the morning either save all or some of your breakfast for after your workout, or have a small early lunch and a small proper lunch - some people advocate eating lots of mini meals through the day anyway, so doing that and having something after you work out might work well.
  • Like the girls have said there is nothing wrong with eating after working out and it's actually very good for you. I always eat a protein and carb as soon as I get home after a workout, about 200-250 calories worth... I also eat 5-6 times / day this keeps my blood sugar levels even and I am never ravenous anymore...

Hope this helps and keep us posted on your progress...
  • Your metabolism is at optimum speed after exercising, so have a small snack or even a small dinner after working out. Something with both protein and cabrs, and a little healthy fat.
