Hi everyone! I just joined...

  • I just wanted to let everyone know who i am =)

    My name is Alicia and I live in Texas. I am 19 years old and I am extremely unhappy with my weight. My weight right now is about 225. I wear a size 18/20. I used to be a size 12 and weigh 160 and I was unhappy about it. But looking back, I was awesome looking!!!
    My goal weight is 145-ish. I reciently started a new job in an office where I wont be walking and moving around as much as I was at my last job. So my first goal is to not gain anymore weight at this new job.
    I just want to have people to help me, give me tips, help me stay motivated... ect.

    Hello & !!!!

    This is a GREAT site with LOTS of WONDERFUL people here! I understand what you mean about working in an office and not walking around as much! I am there now! I just try to walk as much as possible. We have stairs here, but we are not allowed to use them for some strange reason! Stupid I know!

    Also I would advise bringing in your own healthy snacks and lunches so that you are not "tempted" by the other foods around you, as you probably know, offices are known for their food for celebrations and what not. (ours is at least!)

    There is lots of great info and people here, so pls check out as much as you want, but I will invite you so my "group" if you want to check it out, we would be glad to have you! I am in the Jaded Ladies, which is under Support Groups, Jaded Ladies and we usually post daily on the Weightloss Chit and Chat Thread, the lastest one will be on the top.

    But pls do check out as much as you want as there are lots and lots of great support and people here! Just wanted to invite you to join us in the Jaded Ladies, if you would like too!

    Starting a new job is a wonderful time to start new habits. Like Sassy's lunch packing tip and fitting exercise in around your new routine.
  • Welcome! I have to congradualte you on attacking this before the 'non-movement' job got a hold of you! My revelation didn't come until I hoped on the scale and realized I had gained 30lbs in the a year since starting my desk job. Bringing your own healthy food every day will help with that...step away from the take out and office treats! Also you gotta move...even if you take your lunch break to go for a quick walk!
    Feel free to join us on our daily commitments thread in the 100lbs club...its a real great bunch of ladies!
