Thumbs up I am getting ready to start Smashing!

I got my book yesterday and it isnt chock full of information, is it? Thank goodness you ladies are here for me to ask questions. I am hoping to have a Fat Smash Buddy who I hope will give me some support. ( I emailed her/him this morning) My question is about the smoothies, how do I make them? I guess I have to go out and buy a blender but thats ok.I have another question. What is a lentil? Can someone clarify for me? I am assuming its beans. Is there any beans I cant have on phase 1? I am starting on Monday because I need to go shopping over the weekend. I have also made me a "cookbook" from the recipies I have found. If anyone has any suggestions for me I would love to hear them. Thanks so much
~Crystal

My question is about the smoothies, how do I make them? I guess I have to go out and buy a blender but thats ok. You can buy a "real" blender or a hand blender.

I have another question. What is a lentil? Can someone clarify for me? I am assuming its beans. A lentil is a bean.

Is there any beans I cant have on phase 1? No...but watch the serving size! A can of beans is about 3-4 servings! Any more than that and you'll be hindering weightloss progress!

Good luck and let us know how it's going!

Hi Krystle! Glad to see you joining us! When I make a smoothie I put in about 1/2 cup NF milk, 1/4-1/2 cup NF yogurt (I use plain or vanilla flavored just cause they go w/ just about any flavor whereas peach yogurt for example may not be as veratile, but experiment!). I make sure to add liquids to my blender first. Some times I add some ice, just to thin it out and make it a little frostier, kinda like a milkshake. I get it out of my fridge's dispenser already crushed just so my blender doesn't have to work as hard, but you could add whole cubes. Then I add my fruit. I usually add a combo of frozen and fresh-whatever I have on hand. Obviously the more frozen fruit you use, the more thick it will be. Lately I've been making up combos of blueberries, raspberries, peaches, nectarines, and bananas. Whatever you choose to use, just make sure you count your dairy toward your daily limits and you should be set. This makes a fairly large smoothie that you could have for breakfast or a very filling snack. Enjoy and don't be afraid to experiment with proportions till you find out what you like!

I actully freeze my fresh fruit OR use frozen fruit (unsweetened) for my smoothies. No ice needed!

I put in the milk, berries then yogurt and blend till smooth! Our favs are:

Strawberry (frozen) and banana
Blue and Black berries
mango blueberry
strawberry raspberry

We too use plain FF vanilla yogurt!
