Default Dark thighs (TMI. Please help)

There's an area of my inner thigh and my buttocks that has gradually gotten darker and darker over the years. It's not horrible, but it bothers me. The area on my thighs is almost a sickly yellow-brown color, but the color in the area closer to my vagina (I guess the best way to describe where I mean is if you take both your hands and place your pinky fingers in a V where your mons pubis is, that whole area that isn't exactly part of the thigh but not part of the butt either) is darker, and looks very...dirty, for lack of better word. I'm very pale and fair skinned, so this bothers me. Even my labia majora is slowly turning darker. I used to be very light and pink, and now I don't like what I see at all.

I've been to the doctor, I'm not diabetic or pre-diabetic, and no one in my family has any blood-sugar related illnesses. I'm just fat, and my thighs rub. In the past I've tried salt and sugar scrubs, exfoliating gloves, loofahs, lotions, lemons, honey--nothing has worked. I recently started getting into AHA lotions, but the one I bought didn't seem to do anything, either. My doctor recommended that hydroquinone cream, but I hear it causes liver and kidney problems, and can cause cancer, so that's out.

Recently, I started using a combination of AmLactin and Vitamin E oil. I use the AmLactin in the morning, and then again midday (says to use it x2 a day), and the Vitamin E oil at night. As I was rubbing it in tonight I noticed I had some sort of spotting--this one area that looked very light compared to the rest, so, being curious, I started to use my finger nail to scratch at it. It seemed to slough away. Sort of like if I kept scratching, maybe more would come off. But I didn't want to irritate anything, so I just rubbed everything in and left it alone.

Does it sound like this might be the solution to my problem, alongside diet and exercise to lose weight? Do you think there's anything else I could be doing?

it's call Acanthosis Nigricans. Doesn't look nice, but it's very common in overweight people, and it nothing but skin colour change.

It can be improved by weight loss, but I don't know how much.

xtreme brite gel?

That's my answer to any dark skin problems, LOL. It literally turned my armpits from like a dark shade of grey to white and normal looking. Then again, thats my pits.. idk how it would work on the thighs.. worth looking into though.

good luck!

When I was overweight, I had darker areas in my thighs as well, but since I lost weight, it's all gone. I tried different lotions and remedies but nothing worked until, I lost weight. Just be patient and when you lose the weight, you will notice changes in colour.

Most of my darker patches have disappeared with my weight loss. I still have a few light areas that I notice but no one else does. I figure with more time, these too will fade out.

Wow, I forgot I used to have that under my lower stomach and on my inner thighs. It's totally gone. I think it disappeared so gradually I never noticed, because I never obsessed over it when I had it.
