Default shiritaki noodles

I was going through the recipe threads and saw these on a few of them...

Are the shiritaki noodles ok for this? I read through the site and it looks like they are all veggie based...but IDK

Default Ugh!

I bought the fettuccine noddles and they were absolutely disgusting! The texture was something like what raw, slimy calamari would be. And they left this strange fuzzy feeling on my teeth. Plus when you chew them, it was like chewing on crunchy slime (sorry so graphic, but it's the truth).

If you do purchase them I would buy a single pack to see how you like them. Maybe the thinner style noodles have better texture.

Good luck and let us know what you think if you try them.

tofu shiritaki noodles are not ok for IP because they have carbs in them, however, miracle noodles are completely fine! you can buy them here.

I've had a similar noodle...different brand but same thing. It was a little weird at first but I find they do go well with a stirfry, like any of these products I find if I try to compare it to what I think they should taste like I'm totally disappointed.

I rised them really well and used the angel hair ones in a crab claw sauce I made. I thought they turned out pretty well. Even had it the next day and it was even better since the sauce soaked up a bit in the noodle.

I occasionally use them...but you need to rinse them really really well. I tend to like the Kelp noodles better. The miracle noodles are good but the serving size is soooooo small. If I am really wanting noodles or a noodle type texture I use a julian peeler and a zucchini -- just peel the zucchini with the julian peeler -- you get great spaghetti type strips -- blanch them for a minute or two in salted boiling water -- they are IP friendly and a great way to get in your 2 cups of veggies.

I've been really wanting to try these noodles that everyone has been talking about, so I finally ordered myself a package and I should be getting them this coming Monday.

That is such a great idea! I will definitely try that! What I've been doing is heating up some bean sprouts until they get soft, and mixing it with whatever else I'm in the mood for.
