Default calories at red lobster?!

Hi--

Got a quick question: I brought my calorieking 2009 book edition to Red Lobster tonight. I had 2 steamed, plain sides of broccoli & asparagus with no flavorings or butter, etc.

I also ordered 2 garlic grilled jumbo shrimp. Now, my calorie king book said (under Red Lobster), that the garlic shrimp was 140 calories. *Doesn't specify if it's one or 2 servings in the book.*

I took into assumption beforehand, that it was 140 calories for 1 garlic shrimp (I was served 2 sticks of garlic shrimp as part of my dish I ordered), so I counted the garlic shrimp on my plate as 2 "servings" = 280 calories.

I also asked to grill the shrimp plain (READ: with no garlic buttery flavorings).
I knew I'd pick up some buttery flavoring anyway as they grilled it-- since it's greased/buttered/whatever from other orders they made for other customers tonight at the restaurant.

Does this sound right? 280 calories for 2 "servings" of garlic shrimp?

thanks!

I'm not familiar with these shrimp, but unless they are breaded, 280 sounds pretty reasonable. Shrimp themselves are very low calorie - about 60 cals/100g - & I think you are right to assume that even though you asked for them "plain," that means s/th different to us than it means to restaurant folks!

Hmmm looking at their nutritional information online ( check out their website ) it says that their garlic grilled ship are 105 (with the butter). So I would think that would be per shrimp and your without butter to be 140 together. Though if you wanted to know you could always email the company and ask. I've had wonderful luck asking the companies whether the calories are as served, how many 'portions' to a plate and things like that.
