Default Symptom change and weight loss

I lost my medication in a recent move, and for a while was too busy to refill my prescription. A while later, I got my period, so as an experiment I stopped taking it, and I got another one about a month and a half later. The question I have is whether this reduction in some symptoms means a reduction in all symptoms. Will not taking my medicine still make hair growth get worse over time, and is that a symptom that ever goes away?

Thanks!

When I went off the pill my hair started growing back on my face and darker on other body parts, just like before I started taking the pill. So if you stop medication it might come back like before. But now I've been having some success with supplements and exercise (still off the pill), and my body/facial hair is improving and my head hair is thickening. I've only been doing it for a few weeks like this, but already there's an improvement. I think what it comes down to is majorly regulate your diet and exercise OR keep taking medication. That's just my thought on it. Hopefully in a few months I'll be at my goal weight and all my symptoms will be gone, and I'll be able to tell you it actually worked 100%! But until then I'll just report what small positive results I'm having so far

Michelle, What supplements are you taking? I am currently taking 88mg of Levothroid and 1000mg of Metformin both for obvious reasons. I also take a multivitamin, biotin, and 1000mg of evening primrose oil.

Even while on Metformin and birth control I didn't experience much of a reduction in symptoms while I was still heavy - only the most obvious ones, the BC made me have a period every month.

I stopped taking metformin and birth control, and through the process of losing weight the majority of my symptoms decreased. I still have some unwanted hair, but now it's thinner and lighter and generally grows much slower than it did when I was at my heaviest. As far as other symptoms are concerned, they've essentially vanished altogether.

I wouldn't expect that by not taking your medication your symtoms would get any worse than they were before you started taking medication, and with weight loss and diet you can likely expect some improvement.
