  • I've been doing very well at sticking to my plan, though yesterday I had a strong desire for soda. I went as far as peeking around for one in the pantry, to which I found a case of Pepsi that my mom bought. I was never a big fan of Pepsi to begin with (more of a Coke person), but when I looked at the nutritional information on the back and saw "High Fructose Corn Syrup", the craving instantly went away. :P
  • last night i made melted cheese and crackers for dh. i used to always eat some of whatever i was preparing. now i'm cal. counting. it's usually not worth it to me to guess cal and log it. so i just say no.

and this morning, i gave some donuts to someone else. i didnt want a whole donut, but i got frosting on my finger. i got this voice in my head, what did you say no to? and washed it off.
  • I had to go to a lunch buffet at a class I was at all day, I was hungry. I didn't have to resist much at lunch because the food (except for the salmon) didn't look that good. The dessert, however, was so tempting, and to top it off... I was alone and everyone else (it seemed ) was there with someone, so they were not talking to me even though I was trying (they were all seeming to be so entrenched in their little groups)

I was semi bored, and hungry, and I resisted anyways
  • Hubs really wanted breakfast pizza. After looking at the nutrition information I agreed to join him but I only had one slice. I really, really, really wanted to just keep scarfing it down but I stopped.

We went shopping today and I was seriously almost crying (how pathetic is that) over the fact that I really wanted to try the new Werther's chocolate candy. But I walked away from it and now that I'm home, hours later, I'm SO glad I did!
  • Pei Wei, and man do I love some Pei Wei!
  • Small victory for me.

My mom sent me Reeses Peanut Butter cups in the mail (can't buy them anywhere in Japan), a coworker gave me a slice of her homemade apple pie, and another coworker gave me a souvenir cookie.

I haven't opened the PB cups and I gave the cookie away. But the pie was totally worth it.
  • Well it was this weekend actually...I said NO to pizza and cake at a birthday party! Whoot! I had slices of red bell pepper, carrots, snap peas?, strawberries, and grapes instead! Go Me!

Awesome!!! I think the amazing feeling for walking away from temptation is far better than the guilt and sadness that follows a binge.
  • I knew I had the points for a small splurge and was really craving chocolate ice cream with m&ms mixed in. I passed 3 McDonalds, 2 Wendy's and a Dairy Queen where I could have gotten that on my way home. Instead, I stopped at the grocery and got a single serving container of the Edy's double-churned mint choc chip.
  • My roommate bought me a Chocolate chocolate cupcake from Cakelove (a great company that makes cakes from scratch!). I ate a bite so as not to be rude and then threw the rest of it away later when he wasn't looking.
  • Cupcakes. I work for a major food distributor so there are always food items in the break room. I went in there this morning to put my lunch in the fridge. On the table in there were two bowls of oranges and two trays of chocolate cupcakes. I considered getting one but bypassed the cupcakes and took two oranges instead.
  • I am saying NO to being down about my slip up last night. Today is a new day and I am focused on my goal!
