Wish I could say the cough is gone but darn it, it isn't!

Had another rough night last night but finally got a few hours sleep with the Nyquil. Nyquil has been my friend, would have been much worse without. Funny but it as well as other cough liquids usually don't help me much. I used to have a doctor who would prescribe cough syrup with a good dose of codeine...that was great but my current doctor doesn't allow enough codeine in it and it's a small bottle!

I'm not a drug abuser, but when I have a bad cough I'd like something strong enough to help me. Between the coughing and running to to the BR I'm pretty busy...
I do have Christmas shopping all done for those who live in other areas at least!! I consider that my grand accomplishment considering I haven't done much else. Even had to do some of it twice...I had put all the cash gifts in several envelopes, then found out one of my gds did not get last years gift so I went through and took out the cash and wrote checks for everyone. I've never had any problem before unless someone didn't tell me but I don't want to take the chance. Otherwise, for those nearby, I have bought only two other christmas gifts, so have quite a few left to buy for. Dh says he can't think of anything he wants and to just forget him this year. Some years we don't exchange gifts so this might be the year but if I can think of something I'll get it. Maybe when I can get out physically shopping I'll see something.
So far I've missed two parties. I'm glad dh got to go at least. My youngest dd is playing Mary in her church play Fri/Sat nights but won't go if I'm still hacking. Then also Fri/Sat our own church musical is happening. I'm hoping our son will go with us or with his dad if I can't go. I love all these things as helps me keep my focus at this meaningful season. A hightlight today ...I got a letter from my gs who lives across the river...thanking me for the game I got him for his birthday. He is such a sweet little guy!
Saraphin - I've forgotten how to convert to pounds so don't know how much that loss is but congrats!! When you're dieting, any loss is a good one! BTW, I'm like you about the hunting, but my son loves to hunt. He hasn't gotten a deer yet but he loves to think he will. I'd rather just look at the pretty deer and marvel at God's creation. But as you say we are all different and that's what makes this an interesting (and very cool!) group! So happy to have "met" you all as you have added a great deal to my life as I read about your varied lifestyles.
Glynne - I have to say you sound much more chipper since you haven't been working!! Think that old job had something to do with how you felt? I really hope you don't have to go back to working and just enjoy doing things you love!
Bobbi - I've pretty much stopped sweeping Too time consuming and for some time now I have felt led to spend my time doing other things more. So doubt I'll be winning much now. I only won a couple books last month and so far nothing this month. When I first started sweeping seriously back around 2000, I did it with the hope of winning all my Christmas gifts. At the time money was tighter and it was helpful even though I never won everything I gave at Christmas. One year I gave my sil a very nice charging dock for his devices and I think it also plays music too. They still use it. I also won golf balls for him and I've won several things for the children. So it was helpful as well as the GCs and cash I've won (no really large amounts though...it kinda dribbled in as $25-$50-$100) through the years, LOTS of books, 3 iPods and the one trip to Philadelpha...I can't complain. I had a pretty good run. Of course I would still like to win a car!
Take care you are and enjoy the season...
