So I got in all those Richard Simmons VHS tapes and I'm sure sorry I got them. I guess I should have asked some pointed questions - have gotten so spoiled with instructors who know how to instruct that I was very disgusted. The camera angles prevent a newbie from seeing exactly what is going on at all time and Richard doesn't bother to tell you what he's doing - he just does it. Which wouldn't be bad if you had a wide angle lens to see it, but no - the "arty farty" camera angles prevent it from happening. Second, he's working out on a regular gym floor, something that cannot happen with carpeting. You can't slide your feet the right way, you kinda get snagged on the carpeting. I know it's been awhile since I've done an aerobic workout but I never had that with Rita Moreno's tape way back when.
I'm disillusioned - I know I need a good cardio workout but I really hate the kind of music they're pushing these days. I don't want to listen to Latin or hip hop or some such crap. But I do need an instructor who knows what they're doing.

Any ideas?

you must be very excited. I would like to join you there, but I have to step things up a notch, or maybe three notches, to get there this year.
. I'll be thinking of you on Wednesday. Please pop in when you can and let us know how you're doing.
I have no reason whatsoever to be depressed (except that I didn't do much working out since Friday) except that it's just before TOM and I'm feeling down. Just had dinner and letting it settle before taking on my yoga DVD (no workouts within 2 hours, ya know) and I don't think I'll nibble much I don't want to but I am sorta down.
. I used to drink a little mint tea and treat myself to a nice bubble bath or a face mask. I've gotten out of the habit, so this is a nice reminder to head toward the bath instead of the kitchen in these moods. What yoga DVD do you do? I like Gaim Living Arts' Yoga for Weight Loss, which I want to do more often in the evenings, but I don't normally get home in time to have dinner before 8PM, and by 10 I'm too lazy to do anything...but I will think of you in the same boat, maybe it will inspire me!

) so I figure that incorporating meditation has to help. I really love doing it. The challenge is to make it a habit.
