Surprise! My boss gave me permission to use the internet at lunch time. Today is a short lunch for me...15 min, so again I'll be short. But you will see me everyday. Hopefully, my brother will have my computer up and running by next week. I'm taking it to him on Friday and he said it wouldn't take long for him to get it fixed. I'm going to try to pick it up on Sunday from him.

Debbie: It's nice to see you again. Please come and post...we want to help you through the rough times and celebrate the good times with you.

hello everyone.

I've been trying to get in lots of fiber lately. I found a new high fiber cereal at Trader Joe's called "10 +10" - it has 10g protein and 10g fiber per 3/4 cup serving. I had that today and brought apples, home-popped popcorn and soy and flaxseed tortilla chips. I have a veggie lasagna for lunch.

I have to leave for my interview...wish me luck!

It's funny how a few pounds that were totally unexpected can completely make you walk on air! I've not been this motivated to exercise in a LONG time!

Debbie - You are on the right track. I'm on low carb/Atkins too and it's been wonderful for me. You may want to get some KetoStix (they are about $12.00 for 50 of them) at a pharmacy. The brand name is Bayer and it's what they use in diagnostic labs. I don't worry about the scale not moving as long as those little sticks turn pink or purple. Then I know I'm burning some of my own fat and it's just a matter of time. I use them as a motivator. Just an idea!

Girlie - I hope you did well on your interview and I hope that you get the job if it's meant to be.

hope everyone is doing well, i am doing ok. trying my best to watch my calories and exercise. the scale was up a little this morning but i know i haven't been getting enogh water so i will try harder with that tomorrow.

mychoice sorry about your puter problems, hope it gets fixed real soon. it is very nice of your boss to let you check in at lunch time. great job in getting your walk in hope you aren't coming down with something. take care of yourself!!

holly- great job making a plan and writing it down. it is alot easier to stick to something that you have laid out in front of you before hand. keep up the good work and positive attitude! sometimes when life in general gets out of control there is just no way to keep your eating in control.

Another good day under my belt.Yippee!
I did yoga and I mostly ate well. I had a second helping at dinner.BAH!I did NOT snack last night.
I had a good day in dealing wiht my son.He was fantastic this morning before school.
My daughter is goingona playdate this aft and then I am going to my folks a tthe lake to visit and walk the beach!!!
I have a full time toddler starting Monday.This will be my last free day for a while.

My goal is to keep both my food and exercise in control at the same time.

Hi, everybody! Just checking in. Having a pretty good day, eating wise, but haven't made it out to walk yet. I watched The Biggest Loser last night for the first time. I enjoyed the show but found it heart-rending, too. I felt so bad for some of the team mates and so good for others. Could you imagine losing 10-15 pounds in one week?
It is encouraging to see them working so hard. Makes me realize how small my challenges really are from day to day. But they don't seem small in my life.

I hope everyone is doing well. I've been a coward and haven't gotten on the scale yet this week.

Hi Everyone,
It's lunch time..so here I am! I just read through everyones posts and it looks like everyone is staying on board, climbing on board, or hanging on board..that's great!

My personal computer will be fixed by next Friday. My brother is picking up a hard drive today and I'll give it to him Friday night. He has to replace the hard drive and then load all the programs into it. I won't see him again for another week (we live about an hour apart and with work and school and life it's hard to make the trip right away again). But the good news is that it will be back soon and it won't cost me much!

I would like to report that I got a 93 on my first Accounting Test! That's an A. (100-90==A) so I'm really happy!

I'm doing good and got in a good workout last night. I thought I might be coming down with something but letting my body rest that one day, and getting a little more sleep seems to have taken care of it.

I'm hoping for a good loss on Thursday. Just one more day..hang in there Susie! lol

My time is limited on the computer at work, so no personal greetings..just know I read them all and I'm out here rooting you all on.

Hey everyone. How's it going? Interview yesterday was awesome. Hope I get another call back! My food hasn't been great. I grilled burgers and hot dogs last night for DH and I to have over the next few days since DH will be in school these next nights. They were full-fat hot dogs and I skipped the buns but I feel guilty about that. I had a nice 50 minutes on the elliptical and a long, 30 minute shower at the gym afterward!

I've been bringing healthier snacks to work. I have a lunch bag and have soy nuts, light popcorn, apples, soy and flaxseed tortilla chips and a 100-calorie pack by Nabisco in it. So I have all areas covered for when I want chocolate, something salty, something sweet or something nutty, I have it with me and I can choose a couple of the snacks each day. So for today I've had the popcorn and I am going to make myself eat the two apples as well before I leave work in a couple of hours.

good for you on the test! I wasn't great at accounting! I also like your idea of getting rest when you feel something coming on. For example, I was super tired on Sunday night from traveling and I decided to let myself sleep in and not go to the gym that morning so I could be refreshed and start the week off with adequate sleep. If I start the week off without enough rest, I'm just tired all week and what's the point in that?

I watched the Biggest Loser as well...well, part of it. It was more realistic because many of the people gained or didn't lose. I think it's silly though...they go and put these people on crazy, extreme diets and they lose 20 pounds the first week, and then they cry when they gain 3 pounds the next. What do they expect? It's crazy to do such extreme dieting. But anyway, I know how it feels to gain and it sucks.

I have my heart class after work tonite...a dietician will be there again this week.

Not too great about posting these days, sorry guys. You all are doing wonderful, and I am so proud of you. Great job on the loses, exercises, and goals. I pretty much am in a down lull in my life and have not put much effort into me and dieting. Hope to get up and get going soon.

I'm Bacckkkk. SOrry I have'nt been posting much lately things have just been hectic here on my end. I had freinds come and stay they weekend with me this past weekend and we just had fun hanging out. We did alot of talking and a ton of laughing....we were up till 4am fri night/sat morning talking and laughing! I did go out to eat on Sat for the first time in awhile...we went to an all you can eat buffet. Probably not the best choice BUT I did eat a salad w/ff ranch dressing to start off with then had a baked potato with a lil bit of butter and Sour cream. All in all I don't think I did too bad...especaially considering all the good food I bypassed.
I went to the movies Sat night and saw "taxi" we were all laughing our butts off throughout the whole movie!

These last few days I've been caught up in watching the world series and I am so happy right now and so proud of them that I am ready to jump up and down and run around screaming my head off like a lunatic. The problem is everyone here is asleep so I highly doubt they'd appreciate me waking them up. It weird but the moment I knew they were champs a chill went down my spine...it was a weird feeling. I honestly did have to wipe a tear from my eye....I was just completely overcome with emotion. I just wish I could have been there to see it happen live and in person.

I've been doing pretty good with staying OP and getting in my exercise. I slacked off exercising over the weekend but picked it right back up on Monday. I only lost barely a pound when I weighed Tuesday....but thats ok with me. Thats just one more pound to add to the ones I have lost.

I think everyone else is doing a wonderful job and I am proud of you all. Don't get discouraged if you fall off the wagon...just get right back on and continue with your diet/exercise. I've slipped up a few times but I just have to get back with the program and not let it allow me to give up. This is one time where,for me at least, giving up completely is not an option.

Thanks everyone for all the support and congrats about my past test. I'm happy with the grade, but I'm happier that I'm staying OP and losing. Before in my life it was like I couldn't do the weightloss and other things. I'm pretty happy about the fact that I am.

I had a crazy night. Hubby shot a 5 inch nail through his foot with a nail gun yesterday. He managed to miss bones but he is seriously laid up and in pain. I was up around the clock caring for him. I am fuzzy headed today. I have not snacked at night for 3 days.My food intake has been pretty good. I am feeling well and empowered these days!

Morning All!

My mouth is killing me...have a slight sore throat and my wisdoms are acting up. But it's not stopping me from eating my 100 calorie pack of Chips Ahoy crackers. They are SO good.

I woke up this morning for the gym but couldn't do it. I was lazy and felt a sore throat coming on and just slept in. It's good though because I fell asleep by 10pm and got close to 9 hours of sleep last night, all of which I needed. It's so important to get at least 8 hours in each night but it's so hard to do that. I need lots of sleep to function well. I'm learning to eat dinner as soon as I can, and start getting ready for bed, like brush my teeth, around 9pm to get me in the "bed" mood. I've also tried to stop watching TV or reading things in the bedroom. They say you should only use your bed for sleeping and for sex. That way, when you see the bed or lie down, your brain will think "okay, it's time to sleep". I used to read, write, eat and watch TV on our big bed, but now I try to only go on the bed to sleep. And last night, when I sank under the covers, I totally konked out.
