  • Hey everyone! Hoping to jump in here. I'm not that great at keeping up, but I love to read everyone's chatter. I need to do this better because you are all so fantastic and making me want to do my very best in my life plan for my health.

Jane, nope! Nothing lasts anymore. Mostly just past the warranty, it seems! I had a Nintendo DS a few years ago, and it lasted six months. I never once dropped it! Toasters, microwaves and appliances, just like you, too. Have the same problem with furniture sometimes, sofas mostly. Maybe weight loss will help that issue, come to think of it.

sassyangies, you did great for eating out! Mexican food is my demon. I love it. From the chips and salsa (sometimes queso) to the enchiladas. Cheese, please. I do love chicken enchiladas, too, so maybe I should switch it up to that instead for less calories. We aren't going to stop eating it, so I need to figure out how to do it better.
  • Y'all move way too quick for me sometimes!

Rose-- so good to see you back. Your food always sounds amazing! I bet you have a lot of good recipes. Glad to see you're kicking that flu's butt. All sorts of germy things are going around the office. I got the flu shot last year and thankfully have been able to avoid getting sick, but I woke up today with a tightness in my throat and my voice is trying to go away. Hopefully it doesn't get worse.

I won't be on as much as I would like for about a month. My laptop died. And I don't have the money to replace it right now. Luckily it's close to tax time so I'll be able to get a new one rather quickly. Just wanted to let y'all know.

My birthday was Sunday...and I didn't do so hot. Got back on the wagon (once all the cookie cake was gone) and glad to see I've dropped some of the water weight that I'm sure I had. Plus it was TOM...blah.

I hope you gorgeous ladies keep up the good work. I'll check in every once in a while from work.
  • Kerrileah, you're very right. You know my mom had the same microwave from 1981 until 2007??? I've been through three in five years!
  • Our weather is crazy, thats the thing about living in ky. IF you dont like the weather hang around a few days it will change. WE are suppost hit 60 tomorrow again and then be single digits next week.
I had a good day yesterday and hubby even asked me to fix green beans with dinner. I was happy as I could eat them daily. I love them!!
No menu planned for today but will make it OP.
  • Jane - glad that your fridge is working again; that is really, really odd though. But yeah - I mean, the appliances in my kitchen now were NOT luxury brands 30 years ago. My house is pretty modest. But thus far only the oven has quit. I would like a new fridge, but it doesn't make sense until and unless this one quits.

However, I do really like my new(ish) oven. I had to leave a temp gage in the old one because the temp was always off.

sassyangies - that sounds like a fun way to spend the evening. I'm not into scrapbooking, but I have a few hobbies and it is fun to do them with people who enjoy it. And I like craftiness in general, even if scrapbooking per se isn't for me.

Oh, and keep going with the art! I am so jealous of people who have the ability. A good friend of mine is a really nice artist.

Rosebud - glad to hear from you, and glad that you are getting stronger and taking care of yourself. It's really awesome that you have family with whom you can stay while you recover. Your roast dinner sounds great, too. I love roasted cauliflower but had not roasted broccoli until this week. It was delish!

KerriLeah - there's no need to keep up! Not everyone has time; just join the chatter. Haha, when I eat Mexican I can get the cheese enchiladas because I am a vegetarian. If I eat out and eat Mexican, it is usually my "extra calorie" meal for the week, where I don't worry about the calories (but also don't eat Deep Fried Anything. That's important, that balance), but yeah! Explore your options. If you go to the same place, you could talk to them about how they cook their fajitas and try those?

I think the chips are the BIGGEST problem at most Mexican restaurants, though.

Car - celebrations always trip us up, and honestly I think you should be able to have some cake on your birthday! Sorry to hear about your laptop; maybe in the meantime you could get a notebook that you keep in your handbag or something, just a self check-in to help keep you accountable? A friend gave me a daily planner for Christmas (it is neat; every day has a note about women in history), which I don't really need for daily planning as I keep an electronic calendar at work, so I am writting a sentence or two in it everyday as a little journal.

Heh. dgramie - enjoy the warmth! I think it will warm up here too, but not to 60 degrees. It was cold this morning, but we have had no snow all winter. This time the snow was to our south. Down in Bluefield they got a foot.

I am planning to go to Columbus for a concert next week as long as the weather is okay. We will see.

    Have a great weekend, everyone!
  • HI ladies.. Busy day today. We went yard selling, then to peter piper, then I went and bought a new pair of shoes for work. I go through shoes so fast is seems especially since I only work 3 days a week. I guess that's another issue of being as heavy as I am and that I limp. Well, I work in a few hours so I'm gonna make this short.

My fridge quit this morning. I've only had it three months and the company I bought it from is giving me the run around, so there's my headache for the day.
I think I have been on 3FC too much lately......someone my husband works with had his fridge die the other night and had to buy a new one. I told my DH that Jane's died too. He looked at me and said "Who is Jane?" It was so funny. I feel like I know you ladies for real!
  • lover- I talk about a friend on 3fc that I am close to as if she lived next door. Hubby gets a kick out of it. But I have been on this site for many years now and these women have held my hand thru many of lifes events. I know I would have gained all my weight back if it had not been for my friendships on this site.

Hubby was sick yesterday and I pouted because I was looking forward to eating out and staying on plan. I hate that eating out is a social occasion for me. I live in a very rural area and just not much to do besides church and eating out once a week.

hoping he feels better today and we can go out today.
  • Hi
    Hi everyone!
I am so excited! I feel like I'm finally going to get it right this time. I was terribly upset to see 392lbs on the scale on 1/7/13. That is my hightest weight ever!!!
It scared me into action. Since then I have lost 4lbs. I weight in tomorrow & I'm nervous. I keep thinking what if... So my fingers are crossed.
  • good luck LUV!!!
  • Hey ladies.. Hope everyone is having a great Sunday! We usually go over to my SILs house today for coffee and breakfast and to let the kids play together.
Welcome Luv glad your here. Your doing great so far Keep up the good work. What are you doing to lose your weight.

Ramie, I would have been the same way. This is the hardest thing for me to break. My whole life sence childhood eating out was what we did if we did anything. I still do it, but like you limit it to once a week and I'm OP or I don't go. Unless I have ALLOT of calories, but I still try and make better choices than I would have before. Hopefully he'll feel better soon and you guys can go out..

Mnem, have fun in Columbus!! Hope the weather is good for you!!

I do this too! There's another forum I've been on for years and I speak about the members constantly as if I see them daily.
  • This is going to sound sad but I get more support from you "internet" ladies than I do in real life from my family. I'd be lost without you all and am so thankful for this site.

I have come to the conclusion that my family is never going to "get it" and I am ok with that. My husband is amazing but I can only talk about diet and food and all that so much with him, it's not fair to him!
  • I feel the same way. I get so excited about nsv's, and I tell my friends and I know they don't "get it". It's nice to talk to people on the same page.
  • Elvislover ~ you do know us for real; I know that I am real and I think most people here are too. We are just a bunch of ordinary people who have something in common -- sharing ideas, encouragement, and support on this site.

BABYLUV ~ glad you decided to join us over here; congrats on your first 4 lbs! No matter what happens at your weigh-ins ... just keep going and you will see progress over time. That is key -- its the long-term that counts the most ...

We got some more ****** last night too; it was windy and the hydro went out a few times but only for a few seconds at a time. It finally looks like winter around here. We are enjoying the pretty vistas though.

Tonight we had a salad and chicken pot pie for Sunday dinner; it was yummy and healthy too. Hope you all have a wonderful week coming up.
