  • Can't wait to try the muffin cup recipe, thanks for sharing!
  • I think I'm going to use spinach next time instead of the broccoli in the egg "muffins". I don't mind broccoli but it can be really overpowering in some dishes.
  • Soooo sorry for TMI but i have my period and its making me want to do not a damn thing!! Ive been going back and forth all day if i should go to the gym or not but if i dont then ill be home for wayyy to long and most likely eat like an animal! ughhhh
  • Today I went to Zumba. I love zumba, it is so much fun. But my legs are going to be really sore in the morning.

For my fruit I had an orange. I guess it is just peach skin that I'm allergic too.
  • Jo - Thanks for all the info! I've been counting all week (and precounted out my happy hour for this evening with my girls and the rest of my meals). I'm using an online counting program but should get one for my phone too.. any recommendations?

Amber, we all have those days!! What did you decide??

Lil and all the newcomers (not really that new, we just started!!)

Ok so yesterday I did 15 min on the elliptical and 20 min on the recumbant bike. The A/C seemed to be not working in the room I was in at the gym and I sweated like Bob Marley before a drug test! Whew! Got my fruit in there, ate a yummy peach (sorry monte..haha) and some cantaloupe (super juicy and delicious!!). Already had some more caltaloupe today- they must be in season!!

Today we're going to hit the gym prior to happy hour! No food - we have agreed we will have a couple drinks and go to Jason's Deli for dinner (already know what I'm getting!)

    Way to go Wfon!

  • I did end up going! Didnt push as hard but still worked up butt off I LOVEEEEE Cantaloupe so delish! Good luck at the gym tonight !
  • I'm not sure what the problem is with me, but I haven't slept in two days, and it is really taking a toll on me. I don't feel like I'm anxious because of the situation with my car, but maybe it is affecting me subconsciously. But I'm exhausted today, and my knees really hurt from all the jumping around in Zumba, so I'm going to take a rest today. I think I'll really enjoy KenpoX, and want to have enough energy to really bring it.

For my fruit today I had an orange.

I will be starting the diet portion of P90X tomorrow, so I've been working on my meal plan. I'm doing Phase 1, Level 1...5 servings protein, 2 dairy, 1 fruit, 2 veggie, 1 fat, 1 carb, 1 condiment, sngl snack, dbl snack & recovery drink. This is my plan for tomorrow.

Breakfast - 5 egg whites, 1/4c shredded cheese, salsa, 2 slices bread (1 protein, 1 dairy, 1 carb)
    Snack - orange (1 fruit)
    Lunch - 2c salad, 6oz chicken, 1/4c cheese, 2 tbls dressing (1 veggie, 2 protein, 1 dairy)
Snack - 2 string cheese, salsa (dbl snack)
    Dinner - 6oz pork loin, 1c broccoli, 1tblsp butter (2 protein, 1 veggie, 1 fat)
    Snack - 1/2c sherbet
  • Monte - your meal plan looks good. I always am able to stay on track when I eat frequent small meals. I don't have "time" to get hungry & go eat something off-plan. My problem is when I don't go grocery shopping on schedule & then have a hard time finding something in the house that is on my meal plan then I've waited so long to eat, I'm starving and will eat anything. Being prepared is my key to success with meal plans.

I've done really good this week. I am the queen of excuses for not fitting in workouts or not preparing my food in advance. I easily place blame on A)being a busy mom, B) being too tired from work, C) having too much other stuff to do, and the list goes on..... My mantra for this challenge is - "The only one holding you back is yourself" - because it is SO true. While yes, there may be challenges and 100 other things I need to fit into my day, I am the one that makes the decision to workout or to skip or to eat a healthy meal or to eat some junk. It is my decision and if I make the wrong choice, I am holding myself back and cannot place blame on others.
  • All of 4 days in to the diet and so far so good.
    Fruit challenge - tick
    TV challenge - tick
    Exercise challenge - tick

Been for a run at lunchtime every day this week, so i'm happy about that.

Saturday will be difficult though as we're hosting a big dinner party for friends, and some of them are staying the night, so its going to be a long boozy one!

I've been making dessert tonight (chocolate/nougart parfait with raspberry coulis, later i'll decorate with some choc swirls i've made and some fresh raspberries. Funnily enough i wasn't even tempted to lick the bowl during this. Thankfully!
  • Happy September, everybody!
  • you too shanhat!

So, not looking forward to Sunday morning weigh in >.< I know i didnt gain but i dont think i lost either and its annoying because i havent ate terrible but i did snack more than usual and i feel bloated blehhh Maybe ill be wrong! Last time it took me a good month after starting to lose a good amount of weight anyways so we shall see!

    Hows everyone else been doing?

Anyone have homemade very low cal dressing rec??
  • ^ I do!!!

I have one of those Four Seasons cruet things. I mix the FS seasoning packet with red wine vinegar and just add the oil directly to the salad. Yummy.
  • What is four seasons? Can you get it at a normal grocery store or healthfood?

Oops. I meant GOOD Seasons. My aspirations toward luxury hotel vacations are showing ...

Anyway, it's in the dressing/condiments aisle of my local grocery. It's this

    http://www.amazon.com/Good-Seasons-D.../dp/B001EQ4DNY

At my store, they sell a starter pack with a cruet, but you don't need it. I think you could use any type of vinegar -- I just happen to love red wine vinegar.
  • Hey everybody!

Had a pc of cantaloupe again today.. yum.

Was supposed to go to the trainer, but not feeling too great - Not sure if it's allergies from the pollen or what, but I rescheduled with her because it's my last session (got 3 free ones) and I want to be into it 100%. I have been to the gym 3 days in a row, so I don't feel too bad for taking a break.

Ended up making yummy dinner... had baked eggplant parm with whole wheat pasta... for everything it was only 380 calories and yummmmy!!

Need to look for new recipes for next week.. we usually do our grocery shopping on the weekends, so going to start thinking now. I'm a pescatarian and play around with soy products and whatnot. I did made a killer cod the other night on the grill though

Hope everyone's having a good day! I didn't sleep well last night so I think I'm going to turn in early. TGIF tomorrow!!
