Wow...I might have had to punch the lady in the store! Laney wouldn't ever latch appropriately for me, and when she did my supply wasn't good enough. I was pumping 15 minutes at a time with a good double electric pump and getting 1 ounce, total, every 3 hours when I stopped pumping. I was getting REALLY depressed in a hurry. So I know how you feel...

manda , I don't generally think lying is a good thing but I think for the "lady" in the store that said such a rude, and hurtful thing, a baldfaced lie is called for. I would say "Yes, I agree that breastfeeding is desirable but you see my baby is adopted ". I know that is not true but snotty lady wouldn't know that.

Bargoo, when you do that, those people typically say that you should have found donor milk instead of using "evil" formula. I looked into it, but honestly, I don't know the health histories of the women selling their extra supply, and breastmilk is a bodily fluid! Plus it's SO expensive to pay someone for the milk and the shipment...somewhere around $2-3 an ounce. I can't pay $25 a day, even if I was comfortable with him drinking someone else's milk, which I'm really not.

But to some of these folks, even adoption isn't an excuse...you're just too lazy to find donor milk! The thing is, I KNEW how preposterous she was, and how hard I was working (pretty much the opposite of lazy!), but in that fog of PPD, I took it really, really hard.

Manda, Glad to hear you're doing well! Sorry to hear that woman was obnoxious, people can be nasty sometimes.

I will be 36 weeks on Wednesday so almost there. He's a big baby, according to my doctor. Who knows, but he sure is low already. We'll see when he's here. I hope he stays put for a little while longer for sure, though.

manda, you are right , some people are just so sure they are right that there is nothing you can say. You know you are doing the right thing. I wonder what they would do if they were in your position.

Hi ladies! Just found this thread. I am a mommy of 9 week old twin girls. Having trouble finding time to work out...these girls keep me bust. I tandem nurse and have been lucky enough to be able to produce enough milk for both.

How do you ladies find time to work out? My spare time is spent pumping to save for when I get back to work, caring for my 4 year old and general housework. I was put on bedrest at 28 weeks, so I am starting all over again. Ugh.

Also, doea anyone else have a super sweet tooth? I am craving chcolate ALL the time.

Maddiesmom- Luckily DF and I work/go to school different shifts when we go on our own and family when we decided to go together. How are the girls doing?

For the past few days, Drece had been projectile acidy vomiting practically everything he ate. It started out a little over a week ago at one feeding a day he wouldn't keep down but by today- every feeding came right back up.
I thought it was acid reflux and made an appointment. Well we got sent straight to the hospital for an ultrasound where we are currently at. He has to have surgery in the morning for something called pyloric stenosis. It's basically a inflamed mass blocking his small intestine causing him to poorly gain weight(not even 3 pounds since birth) and vomit all his food back up.

I keep telling myself it will make him feel better when it's all said and done but it's soooo hard to watch him be in painl It took 6 people to get an iv in and over 20 attempts- they just got it in about a quarter to two am when he got admitted at 4pm. He can't eat and won't sleep. =(

Hopefully all is well with you ladies. i'll update when its all said and done.

Keller, sorry your baby has to through this, but you are doing the right thing by getting him medical attention. No one ever said it was easy being a Mom. Stay strong.

Hi Vicky! I try to squeeze workouts in on my lunch break from work...they're not long, but they're something!

I went to the doctor and at 36 weeks, I'm 1cm dilated, baby head down nice and low and I'm mostly effaced. (spelling?) So, on my way to a baby!

Keller, how is the baby ? Was the surgery successful and how are you holding up ?

Surgery went well and has proven successful so far. It was supposed to be early yesterday mornign but he was too dehydrated and his labs kept coming back abnormal. It did eventually get done around 7pm. He no longer vomits(or even spits up) and doesn't cry in pain after a bottle. It was hard seeing him in pain and crying prior to and after but it had to be done and is worth the smile I see now!!

We have two follow up appointments this week. One with his pediatrician for a weight check and one with the surgeon to remove the bandage and make sure all healed properly.

I'm extremely exhausted from being awake the past few nights on only a couple hours of sleep and my eating has been mostly fast food that family has brought us or hospital food the past few days because I haven't left longer then ten minutes to grab clothes from my house (which is about six blocks away). I haven't been to the gym since Monday due to him being sick. It sucks and i'm sure the scale has gone back up a pound or two.

He should be released late this evening or early morning and we'll get back to our normal routines!

Silly question, do babies not like it when their moms are doing Kegels? Baby always kicks me hard when I do my Kegels, lol. Just wondering...
