  • Welcome Nora and Spryng.

The holidays have been rough for sure. Yesterday I had good intentions with starting back with NS...breakfast and lunch. But then friends dropped in and I ended up having some light beer and chinese food. Even this morning is bad plus we'll be going out to dinner with friends. I feel like I can't get back in the swing of it until I'm back at work on Monday. Took 6 weeks to lose 7 and one week to gain 4, blah. I'll probably gain back the rest by monday but that's the way it goes. My vacation days are always bad. I figure once monday comes, I'll get back into routine quickly and relose it at a good pace.

Spryng, check out the nutrisystem recipes on the official NS boards. They have great ways to change up the food you get into something even more fantastic. There was this faux McGriddle that looked fab, all you would have to do is maybe pick out the blueberries in the pancake mix.

Here's to 2009! Happy new year's eve all.
  • Newgie, thanks for the warm welcome! You'll be back in the swing of things in no time hang in there! the holidays are ALMOST over. Yeah I've seen some of the recipes on there but right now I'm enjoying the convenience of just heating and eating, no preparing or recipes, I'll wait until I get bored

Today is going well.. had the choc chip gronola bar for breakfast and the beef and pasta for lunch.. both good dinner will be the chicken and noodles entree. I'm also gonna substitute low sod v-8 in place of my salad tonight. I'm already getting burned out on salad. Just not a big raw veggie fan. So I was glad to find out I can switch. I'm getting tempted to peak at the scale but I know better.. gonna try to hold out for my official wi day on monday..
    anyway, happy new year all!!!
  • I'm not a big salad fan myself. But I found putting a protein serving of cottage cheese ontop instead of salad dressing every so often helps. (Or tuna, light cheese or chicken).
I'll have a carrot and some cut up cucumber instead of a salad at times. Or replace the salad with some cooked vegies.
I like to put my lunch entree over top of steamed vegies and call that a salad and choose the fruit over the salad at dinner. I end up keeping a protein choice and fruit choice to have with dessert.
In the whole scheme of things, I don't think it matters much if you eat raw or steamed. Just have to watch the starchy veggies.
Preparing a few days worth of vegies really helps keep the plan more trouble free.
