I've been reading this thread with interest. Restarted in Jan and lost about 18 lbs. It was a struggle and did not come off as fast as years past. Kids home for the summer and I stopped going to meetings. I love my leader. I was the first leader in years that really motivated me.
I was thinking of going back, saw the free month free so signed up again at lunch on monday. There was a meeting at on my way home at another center. I decided to go to that one rather than wait a few days to go to my favorite leader. I am do glad I did.
Why?
Some things from the class.
1. Using daily's to make sure you get your GHG. Treats are from the 49 extra points. There was one person who lost 80lbs with this method. So a glass of wine is okay but track under the 49 extras. the leader suggested that using this approach it does not seem so bad when you are over 50 and need the 3 dairy.
2. Reread materials. I was reading over the book while waiting and saw things that I don't remember seeing back in January.
3. Make the first week about tracking then tweak.
4. There are 9 check boxes for the fruits and veggies, use that as a maximum. Of course, 9 bananas are probably not a good options, but it is a way to limit the fruits.
I also stayed for the meeting after to relearn the program. Different leader who just presented a bit differently.
I'm hoping this will spark a change for me.
