LOL, well, I'm certainly not going to post a picture of myself in THOSE. And yeah, it would be a real surprise if he showed up in some. :scare:

NSV today: I cooked up a big batch of turkey vegetable soup. That might not sound like much, but to me, it means I am consciously keeping myself on track by guaranteeing healthy, nutritious and satisfying meals. The last thing I felt like doing was making up a big batch of soup, but I knew it would get me thinking about eating healthy stuff and enjoying that thought process. Here's to soup!

I have a NSV!

We have a tradition at work. If we get a Snow day (schools closed, people calling off ect.) the boss goes down to the local D&D and gets 1 1/2 dozen for those of us that show up.

well most everyone say the weather that the north east got last friday... and most everyone knows i am a regular homer at the mention of doughnuts

But last friday i didnt have one.

i even looked at them.. but i didn't want one

That's great babs. I know how hard it can be to resist foods you love when they are just sitting there in front of you all day. Good job!

I was doing the dishes the other day when I suddenly realised my hand fit all the way down inside my 500 ml tumblers. I used to have to scrunch up the cloth and push it down to reach the bottoms.

My NSV is that I needed a tissue in the car this morning and I didn't have any fastfood napkins in the basket anymore, because I don't go to fastfood restaurants any more! I used to have stacks and stacks of them!!!! I'm not on a firstname basis with the clerks at the drive-thru's anymore!!! I just thought that was cool....sure spent a lot of money on that "food" too! Now I buy smaller clothes with the money! :-)

I have two for you today

Firstly I was meeting a friend I've not seen for a while for lunch. We arranged where to meet - and she walked straight past me because she didn't recognise me.

Then I ordered a proper salad for the first time ever. As I was eating it I realised that this time last year the only part of it I'd have liked was the chicken, whereas today I ate it all, other than half of the brocolli (it was a warm chicken, butternut squash, rocket, watercress and brocolli salad). Far better than yesterday's choice of cheese and bacon burger with chips...

Helen: You have made amazing progress! I bet it felt good that you looked so different you weren't recognized!!

Sorry, I took so long to reply. Not getting online as often the last couple of weeks.
I'm learning WTF style Tae Kwon Do. My belts are 'certified' so the cool thing is, if we move once DH is finished with school and the area we move to has a WTF gym, they will honor my belts so I can continue without having to start all over.
Does your some still do Tae Kwon Do?

For a while he helped a friend get a karate business up and going. Then he tried working around his free lancing schedule working at another karate place. It has not worked out for him to keep up with his martial arts. I know he loves free lancing for Skyline media and he loves his martial arts but right now he does not have time to do both right now. He is young (24) he'll get if figured out.

My NSV today came at physical therapy. I've been doing a lot of exercises/strength training for my upper arms. I pulled out the IT bands I'd been using and just felt so little resistance -- I needed to move up to the next level. I also moved up to higher weights in another exercise. Overall, I'm just feeling stronger in a part of me that has been weak for too long! Feels good seeing these kinds of improvements!

I jogged on the treadmill today for the first time! Yea it was only for 30 sec. at a time, and yea it was only at 4.0 mi/hr and yea I was holding on to the bars for dear life, but it was still a jog.

taekwondomom- what is WTF style Tae Kwon Do? All I can think of for the initials is "What the ...." and I doubt thats right!

WTF stands for World Taekwondo Federation. LOL It is the Olympic style of Tae Kwon Do. In theory , if my girls would get good enough they could compete for the USA in Tae Kwon Do at the Olympics. They aren't that devoted to Tae Kwon Do though.

Victoria -- way to go! A jog! I'd love to jog a little but have been told that because of my back I shouldn't -- YET. I'll get there.

I had another victory. I had a moment yesterday when I was feeling really down and depressed and I REALLY wanted to eat the bag of cheetos in the cupboard (which I have been eating one ounce at a time!). But I didn't. I reminded myself that it might taste good at the time, but wouldn't fix the problem. I fixed myself a cup of tea and left the kitchen. After a while, I went and exercised. After that, I no longer wanted the stupid cheetos. I don't think I'm a huge emotional eater, but I know that in the past that bag would have been DUST!
