Well DH just isn't use to my minor lisp. Besides I only listen to him when he gives good advice
As for having to wear a retainer for the rest of my life, I thought that was only at night, but I'm not sure about that either

Anyway, back then you were supposed to wear them all day & night for I don't remember how long and then didn't have to wear them again. Only now they've realised you need to keep wearing them because your teeth can still shift. As for only needing to wear them at night? maybe they've changed that ruling also. Be prepared when you first get your braces on....your mouth is going to hurt (take an advil or 2 before going) and they'll cut your lips up (so get some chapstick) on the inside. We used to get wax from the ortho and stick them over the brackets. Not sure what they use now. And every month when they adjust it? If you're "normal" you won't feel like eating anything except soft foods. I was abnormal and ate cookies and apples. Hard stuff---wanted to get my teeth to shift ASAP so made sure to eat hard stuff so it'd move faster. Worked
