  • Quote: Hi Everyone! I'm baaaack!

As many of you friends know, I initially did IP June 2012-March 2013 and I lost 80 pounds. I kept it off within 10 pounds the first two years after that. But after the death of my sister (can't blame that - I take responsibility for the weight gain) I've come into a pattern of being OP P1 during the school semesters (Jan-April and late August-Thanksgiving) and taking "IP vacations" during the holidays and summers. I choose to do that, although I really know it's not great in the long run.

But here I am back again. I always feel good when I eat this way. I'm on P1 and loving it. I use products from Nashua Nutrition that I like and am into a good routine. Now I need to lose 35 pounds to get to my new, adjusted goal weight that I think is sustainable.

So, I'll be reading and posting a bit while. Kudus to canadajineh, jennydoodle, ishbel and others for keeping it off and sticking around to guide us. Good to see all of you. Hi Rainbow Susan!

I started Jan 13 and am down 7 pounds. This is the usual "first week adjustment" for me. It does seem to get more difficult and slower as I get older. Ah, well. I'm still doing it and sticking to it.

    Happy New Year to everybody!
hi Joy, welcome back to you too!! i'm back on day 17 i think it is now. doing well so far. not many hanging around these threads, i guess most everyone hangs out on facebook now. how are you?
  • I think this is my first post here. Hi! I've been on IP for since May 2016 and I've lost 110 pounds. For the last four months or so I haven't lost at all, in fact I gained 5 pounds over the holidays. I'm struggling to lose the last 10 to reach my goal.

Hi Rainbow! I'm doing fine! How about you? Just backing working at it.

I know many people have gone over to the FB group, but I've got too many other things going on FB. I'm just going to stay here for now. I'm on Day 12. It's been fine, although Friday night I'm having company and they're ordering pizza. I'll just eat my own food and make a big salad. It'll be interesting.

It's easiest to do this when I'm at home on my own. But I feel I've have a running start. Once I really commit, I'm good.

    Hi luveyduv! That's great, 110! That's amazing!

    Have a great day, everyone!
  • Hi all my peeps! I haven't been checking in here for a while. Just LOTS going on in my life right now. Elderly parents will be moving into a senior residence this month, so I am helping with logistics. Mom has dementia and Dad is feeling pretty overwhelmed with the move too. So much to do, I've mainly been checking in on the low carber group on MyFitnessPal these days.

  • Just started IP and lost 8.5 lbs my first week. The first few days were tough (keto flu), but emerged feeling really good. Brain fog from sugar & carbs is gone and - best part - I'm not hungry!

  • I just started a reboot this week and have lost 6 pounds so far. First time I lost 36 pounds in 3 1/2 months. Then I had surgery and gained it all back plus a few more 😤. This time I am looking to lose 40 and am hoping to drop it in 4-ish months.
  • Hi there!

Does anyone have some real food alternatives to one packet of IP, to include almost the exact same calories and macros (protein, carbs, fats, etc)? So far, I know of:
    • One egg, plus 3 egg whites
    • 4 oz of salmon
    • 4 oz. of tuna
    Thanks in advance!!
  • Hi everyone,

Total newbie here - just started Ideal Protein this saturday, so i am on day 4. Ive been sticking to protocol so far and am excited to see what my first week weigh in will be. Im honestly nervous seeing how high everyones first week weight losses have been. I dont feel like i have lost any weight at all yet.
  • My first day on the plan was October 6 with a starting weight of 186. My last WI had me at 175 October 26th. I'm very happy with the results so far and completely hooked. Got a long way to go in P1 but interested in some of the posts talking about maintenance phase and some of the troubles experienced out there. These posts are helpful. Good health to all.
