Good Afternoon Everyone!!
Fi Awwww thank you so much!!! I wouldn't say I'm a private person, just a little shy, but I have opened up a lot since joining 3FC....along with diet and exercise, joining 3FC was one of the best things I could have done for myself. I'm glad I found this place when I did, who knows where I may be had I not.
Mandy Hello!!! Thanks for checking in with us and good luck on your exam!!! With all that studying I'm sure you'll do fine
Rabid Congrats on the 5K today!!! You did amazing!!! I remember when I was first starting out with exercising, my BIL tried to help me out and decided we would go to the park one day and see how long it'd take me to go around this huge pond, it is just a little bit over 1 mile...It took me like 21 minutes to complete it, but when I was going and pushing with all my might I had several people yell out words of encouragement and that really helped me along...It's nice to see that there are still people in the world who can be encouraging when it seems like the world is against you and only there to make fun of you. I'm glad you had a great time!
Betsy It's great to have you back!!! Yeah I'm ignoring him lol...I'm going over to my house in a little bit to check on my cats and the turtle and give them some food and I will be picking up my things to weigh in tomorrow. I don't care what he says. I was going to try and hold out but meh...It's my official weigh in day and I'd like to keep a good log seeing as I had slacked off a couple months with measuring myself and such. So glad you had a good time on your trip and it sounds like you have a lot of house work to do!! I love planting flowers but they always die on me lol...I don't have much of a green thumb but I miraculously have been able to have an orchid in my office grow back every year for the past 4 years. Don't ask me how lol...I even had to show my very green thumbed grandmother how to keep an orchid because she kept killing hers! LOL
Betsy Glad the weather is nice there today and that your daughter's meds are back to where they are. I wanted to get some strawberries this morning at the farmer's market but we didn't go because the weather has been really iffy today and windy as all get out. It's funny about what you said with the depression era thinking...I don't really have that since it was my grand parents who grew up during the depression but being over here at my grandmas shows me she hasn't stopped with that thinking....She has enough canned goods to feed her for a year probably lol....well maybe not that much but I steer away from most canned goods unless it's tomatoes and even then I get the organic, NSA ones.
Terra I'm right there with ya girly...I gotta do both too to get the weight off...Seems like if I eat everything right but don't exercise I don't lose the weight. Hope the weather is nice today for your walk and get to enjoy some good shows!
Cindy I know the spats all too well....On top of me being very shy, I am really sensitive and emotional...I'm sure my PCOS has a good deal to do with that, and having bi-polar disorder which is a double whammy for me. I emotionally eat too but somehow I have fought the temptation on more than one occasion. You'll get back on track don't worry about it. What's the saying....Fall down 7 times, get up 8....What matters is if we have something that sets us back, we recognize it, dust ourselves off, and move forward. Without doing that you're fighting a losing battle. There's nothing wrong with having a cheat meal every once in awhile, but the hard part is making it not a cheat day or falling completely off track. We have to bounce back and I think for people who have been overweight for a long time, or just anyone who enjoys food, it's hard to bounce back sometimes. Here for ya doll anytime!!
So wow today has been pretty amazing. DH and I had a little bit of a restless night being in a new place over night so we didn't get much sleep. He's taking a nap now and I just finished my workout....more on that in a minute. I got up and we went the store to grab a few things to make breakfast...I had an egg bowl and DH had breakfast burritos. Had to do some tidying up around the house, feed the animals clean the cat box, that sort of thing. We relaxed for much of the morning playing some video games together and watching Saturday morning cartoons...Yes, I am a 28 year old who still watches cartoons...I probably watch more cartoons than I do regular shows lol...I'm not ashamed!! :P Then DH decided to go take a nap because he got even less sleep than me. He woke up 1/2 way through my work out because he couldn't sleep but then went back to bed.
Soooo....I wanted to tell you guys about my workout today!!! Since my Turbo Jam videos are on my computer at home I had to figure out something. The weather has been really cloudy, rainy and windy then all the sudden it started to get sunny outside and almost took mom's dog for a walk, but with the wind I didn't want to chance getting stuck in the rain. So apparently their cable provider has a fitness on demand channel...I found this video called Kickboxing Cardio Burn, it's just a little over an hour long and you burn 1,000 calories by the end of it!!! I was like, heck yeah I'm there!! It was nice to have something different to do for a change and I was actually able to keep up...I thought I sweated a lot when I did the Turbo Jam videos but holy cow did I sweat!!! After I did that, today was a planned leg day so I went to Instagram to find some leg workouts I could do at home...It was a total of 6 different moves and you went through all of them 3 times. So here are the totals of everything I did:
180 Donkey Kicks
90 Bridges
180 Lunges
90 Squats
90 Pile Squats
180 Side Lunges
AMAZING!!!! I figured after having the Japanese last night, and I ate 2 pieces of peanut butter fudge I had to make up for it so I said, ok go big or go home!!! I'm sure last night's meal probably didn't effect me much but I said, what the hey I got this huge living room to work out in, why not. I'm sure my legs are going to be thanking me for tomorrow's leg day.
Tonight we're going to make a healthy version of chicken bog. I'll be having cauliflower rice as my rice portion of it, then we have some organic chicken thighs I got on sale that I brought over and got the onion, celery and some turkey kielbasa to go with it, which I will be only eating a few small slices of that and eating mainly chicken. I've got some pork ribs thawing out for tomorrow. DH is going to cook them and make a home made BBQ sauce for them. I'm not big on ribs but he is so maybe I can have some BBQ chicken on the grill tomorrow if the weather is ok....It's so wishy washy right now with that tropical storm out in the ocean.
Well I need to hit the showers guys and find a snack to eat. I accidentally skipped lunch today...only because I had a little bit of a late breakfast. Oh and btw for those asking how eating is going over here....not too bad. There's some snacks here that can be a little tempting, mainly the tortilla chips lol but overall they don't have much over here that I find appetizing so I'm going to have to get a little creative...I crave fresh veggies these days so all this frozen and canned crap is killing me lol...
Have a great rest of the day everyone!!
