  • Quote: Just curious.... How many of you on here are doing this program without a coach?
I too am without a coach, but count this site as my coach! Thanks goodness for 3FC! I thought I would need the motivation of weekly weigh ins and such, but it was simply a matter of learning the protocol and feeling comfortable enough to go it alone. After reading everything I could here and on the alt threads I researched, researched, researched....then at week 8 I went off on my own. I just couldn't afford the cost and my coach was not the best and my clinic never had what I liked. They were always out of things and could never give good reasons.
  • Quote: All this talk about Bubbies, I think I need to get some. How does the taste compare to Mt. Olive no sugar added pickles?
Taste like a regular dill pickle to me.
  • Quote: I have been a yoyo dieter my whole life. I was at 165 (my IP goal is 163) three summers ago and gained most of it back over a couple of years. Since I invested that huge chunk of cash at my first IP WI, I plan to get my money's worth. I need a coach to keep me on track after I lose the weight.

As long as I stay OP, I can see my coach when on P4 and forever.Or that's the story.
We are twins. I started IP in 2011 and got to my goal of 163 and gained it all back. I use Alternative this time around, I do stop in the Clinic for my Potassium, couldn't find a good dupe. I used IP product the first go round for 3 months and then finished with Alts. I lost the same average on Alts.
Like others have said, my coaching was here. Wuv was my biggest plus
  • Quote: Yippysue: Do you have any thyroid or vitamin deficiencies that you know of? Perhaps a consultation with the doctor might help. I know that after being on IP for a couple of months I stopped losing weight and on what most call a “Stall” while being 100% OP. After suggested by my coach I went to the doctor and found out that while on IP I acquired a Hypothyroid. Doing additional tests I found out that I have a Vitamin B12 and D deficiencies. Hypothyroid is common when on this diet, the other 2 are just my body not liking me. It took me MONTHS to get my levels back into the appropriate levels and the funny thing is, I started losing weight as soon as my levels were in a better range.

I am not saying that this is your situation, but there is always a rational reason why IP doesn’t work. If it be not following protocol to the T, not enough sleep, not getting enough water, fat, salt, to many carbs for your body. I highly suggest listening to EMS and posting your daily regime and allowing the people on the form to add their 2 cents.

Wishing you a swift answer, hang in there.
I am also hypothyroid and have a terrible time keeping my Vit D even near to normal. The doc has me on 75mcg Synthroid and I take 50,000u/1x week of vitamin D for 4 months and then 3000u/day for 3 months and when they check my blood, it is way low again. My B12 was low too, but that responed well to additional B12. Maybe that is why I lose so slow. Plus post meno, recent surgery and being a WOMAN! lol
  • So far I'm down 10.6 lbs since my reboot on jan 2nd. this week I'm feeling a little discouraged..TOM is here and my clothes don't feel right...i hate being bloated! i just feel like a beached whale lol. i may skip weighing myself on thursday all together. But i know once tom is out of the building i will shrink back hehe
  • So Im curious, where do y'all purchase the alt foods?

What are the main differences with them and the IP products?
  • I hope I can get motivated with no coach. I will count on this place! I need help can't do this myself

Check the sticky at the beginning of every Daily Chat thread- there may be a part about alternates. There are also threads- use the search function. Many of us order online through places like Nashua nutrition; other alts can be found at GNC, Costco, BJ's, etc.

I've read the 50K vitamin D Rx isn't the correct version for bioavailability (don't get me started on big pharma!)
    Anyway, do some research
You may find you're better off with OTC gel caps at a higher dose. I take 10K/day, which keeps my vit d levels optimal

Thank you ma'am Ill read up on them tomorrow.
  • Quote: Totally different
First, the no sugar added ones are sweet.
    Bubbies are dill.
Second, they are pickled differently. No vinegar. Natural brine. Natural probiotics.
Where can I buy them ?
