  • I just received my 1st nashua order! WOW! It is like Christmas for me with all this new food and the snow! Scorbett, I think you posted about these bars at one point; the ProtiDiet Crunchy cereal bar--still restricted? It has 15g carbs and 6 g fiber. That is 9 so I am assuming restricted. Also, the vanilla wafer bar--unrestricted and amazing! 8g carbs

Yes! The crunchy cereal caramel bar reminded me of the chewy granola bars with chocolate chips! They are restricted
  • Sorry to all of you who have been eating alternatives for a long time and already know this...THE HEALTHSMART CHEESECAKE ROCKS! So do the protiDiet vanilla wafer bars. (sigh)
  • I put in my first nashua order a few days ago because after reading about all the different flavors and seeing the difference in cost I could not keep justifying 99$ for 3 packs of food when I could get 8 packs for 114$ with shipping here in Canada. I ordered mostly stuff with was the same as IP with 1 new coconut flavored bar and the cocomint recommended by scorbett1103. Can't wait till they get here and to try something new. Thanks to all who have posted so much information here

    Monica,
Did your order ship from within Canada? or will you pay shipping and will there be customs charges, too? If you found a way of getting these items to Canada without extra costs I would sure like to know.
Lowcarbgrocery.ca and proteinwell.ca are good Canadian sources for alternatives, but they don't have many of the ones our friends in the U.S. are suggesting.
    Thanks!

I will let you know when they get here. I was not told there would be customs charges and ordered it from the states, but that does not mean there will not be.
  • Does anyone do any "DIY," e.g., making your own "IP" oatmeal?
  • Quote: If you want pudding, use 4oz cold water. If you want a shake, use 8oz cold water (sometimes I'll use 8oz water and then blend with some ice to make a frappe!). Easy peasy!
Duh- it's right on the side of the box! So much better this way, I really didn't like the pudding option. It's a very creamy shake! Thanks for the reminder!

Not sure what you are looking for. We can't have conventional oats in phase 1 so you can't really "DIY" the product.
  • hi, new alternative person here! Have any of you tried the proti thin cookie? the coconut almond? I'm thinking about getting a box, just not sure.. Thanks...
  • When figuring the carbs for restricted or not, do we take the total carbs or net carbs? (Net carbs being total carbs - fiber = net carbs, correct?)

Also, anything over 9 is a restricted, right?

You look at net carbs - restricteds are 9 and above

Woohoo! That makes my day- I have been using my proti-thin vanilla wafers as restricted but they're not!! YAY!

Are you sure? I thought they were - not sure if this is the product you are referring to:

    This one has 13g carbs?
  • The ProtiDiet vanilla wafers have only 8 carbs. Are those the bars you are eating djs06?
