  • Quote: Had first weigh-in today at slimming club, lost 3lbs, I was expecting more but I will up the exercise and try to be more active & see what happens next week. After lunch I'm going to mow the lawn, it slopes sideways and downwards, the grass is long and a bit damp so it MUST count as a work-out, hmmm?
Lynnie I drink sugar free cordial (squash?) in blackcurrant flavour or diet coke-which I try to limit.xxxx
Nancy SO pleased everything is 'clicking' into place and WOOHOO! for picking the chocolate out of trail mix, I would never be so disciplined.xxxx
Annie you relax, that's an order! I really hope your doctors can sort you out, it must be SO frustrating! Did you get to the Krocs? (sp?)xxxxx

    Sharon,
WTG on the 3lb weight loss. Don't be to hard on yourself 3 lbs is an excellent weight loss. But I understand wish for a bigger loss.

    Lynn
  • Afternoon all,

Sharon: Woo hoo to -3 pounds. I am excited for you! I want to lose 3 pounds in one week . Yes, I did make it to the Kroc. I did it today again. I swam for 20 minutes as slow as a pace as I can make myself and when I feel out of breath I grab the kickboard and use it for a while then go back to swimming. I then walked in the lazy river for 15 min. against the current.

At the beginning of this week I was at 249 pounds and I was so frustrated. Yesterday I was at 247.5 and today I am at 243.5. I want so badly to get this darn weight back off that I gained after my heart attack. I want to fit back into my size 14's and be able to breath! I am considering going to a nutritionist that works for my weight loss surgeon to have her help me to plan some meals because I am so scared to eat and I know hat is silly because my body needs for me to eat in order to lose weight but I just am scared so I have been drinking protein shakes almost solely and that is getting me enough protein but not much of the other stuff my body needs. I won't be able to go until like the 20th (payday) so that will give me some time to work out some feelings I'm having that are quite negative so when she tells me some ideas I won't be such a pill to her.

Well, I guess that is it for now. Hoping you are all doing wonderful and blessed.
    Annie
  • Hey ladies and gentleman,

I finally made it here today..........loong day for me but a blessed one.

I love Crystal Light too, but you gotta try the Hawian Punch sugar free ones. The Polar Blast, Lemon Berry Squeeze are good ones and the Wal-Mart brand Great Value, Apple and the Orange Sunrise good too.

    Nancy,
I use to be like that too. If I messed up once in a day, then the whole day was shot and I would be off and running eating everything that was not nailed down. I am changing my mindset and it helps. I find I have to speak life to the situation, cause the words you speak out of your mouth can bring life or death to a situation, so why not choose life. I am with you, we have got to get out of the black or white mode. I think we all struggle with it that. You are doing great!!! Now here is a woot woot for only eating the nuts!!!

    Heather,
I miss the bubbles too, but this too shall pass!! I hope!!

    Hi George,
nice to meet cha!!! How do you make your own soda? Great job on getting out of the 300's, I am still working on that. 270 sounds real real good.

    Konfy,
Hope you don't mind me shortening your name, I am old and my memory is not that good. hahahaha I am glad to see you here. I am with you too, I also buy some of the Walmart brand flavors.

    ilb,
Girl claim it, tell it, it will last, make it last, you can do it, I just know you can!!! WTG!!!! Speak it into existence!!! You got the power, I am learning that too, we do hold the power, let's use it together!!!

    Annie,
did not think I would have like fried pickles either, but Good gracious of Life, they were awesome, but I will only eat the one's from the Pig and Whistle in Memphis Tenn. I have tried them in other places where I live and it is seriously a no no no!!! hahahaha
Annie, please get your rest so your blood pressure will come down. I am always praying for you cause I cannot imagine a world wthout my Annie!!! Hey, fantastic on that weight lost, see, no worries, it's coming off and coming off well!!! Big time congrats!!!! smooches

    Rat,
that was so nice helping your friend in need, you sure got alot of exercise in. Burn baby burn, those calories. Don't over do it though, we need you here.

    Sharon,
hot diggity dang dang......THREE POUNDS DOWN.....you rock girl!!!! Yeah, I think all the mowing, up and down, criss-crossing and it's high grass definetly counts as a huge workout!!! You will probably drop at least three more pounds. YOu rock!!

Well, I have had a great busy long day. It was absolutely beautiful outside and the temperature was perfect....70 degrees. Can't remember if I told you ladies that I WI on Tues and I lost 2 pounds. I was a happy camper to say the least. Daddy (DH), started his physical therapy yesterday and they found that his hip is out of alignment from the accident as well. He finally got his worker's comp papers filed and here is to hoping the money is not to far behind. I was just thankful I got my bonus on April 1, so I have be able to pay all the bills and just when all the money was just about gone, my sister stepped in and blessed us. My sister, I love that girl, even when she doesn't know exactly what's going on in my life, somehow she does!! She is my guardian angel. I always tell her, we are sisters by birth, friends by choice.
Well all have a positively fantastic day tomorrow and make someone out there smile, it does a heart good.

    Hugs love and blessings,
rememeber to make every moment count,

I use product from a company called sodastreamusa. They sell you a bottle of CO2, a dispenser, and several plastic bottles. You fill the plastic bottle with tap water, attach it to the dispenser, press the button, and it lets out a pressurized stream of CO2 into the water. You can make it pretty bubbly, and so long as you keep the cap on, it stores in the fridge for quite a while.

This is a little different from the old seltzer bottles, where the CO2 cartridge traveled with the bottle

    makes a great refreshing drink

PS.. the 270 is great, walking this morning I felt like a coiled spring
  • Afternoon all,

Ags: I have to say that I think my weight is changing because I am swimming as much as I am "allowed" by the Doctors. I try my hardest to swim really slow and just use my muscles to pull myself through the water. When I am feeling a bit out of breath I use the kickboard to ease up a bit. ACK. I almost forgot to mention a big ole woot woot for your -2 pounds!

Praise God for your sister. I will keep your DH in my prayers for a speedy recovery. I hope that the money comes in very soon and you won't have any stress in that area at least!

George: Hi there. Glad to see that you are still checking in here once in a while.

Well, I finally got to change my weight loss tracker today. I was at 243.5 yesterday and my weight loss tracker said 242 well, today I woke up and I weigh 241! Only 2 more pounds to reach my next goal of getting out of the 240's. I already have a "prize" that I showed my DH that I wanted for reaching that goal. It is a beautiful African print dress and I will wear it this summer especially as my tummy gets smaller and flatter! I love having goals and reaching them. I swam for 30 minutes today instead of 15 then water walking for 5-10. There were tons of kids in the water walk area (Easter Vacation I think) so, I just stayed clear of it.

Well, I hope you are all doing wonderful and that the sun is shining on your faces as it is here finally for us! I actually wore flip flops to the pool today

    Blessings all,
    Annie

    WTG ANNIE!!!!

well ladies I am feeling it in my legs today. I increased weights on my ankles by 2.5 lbs. I did 30 squats today and I was lower to the ground. I am aching in my ab and top parts of my thighs. Tomorrow is WI and measurements. I am hoping for better results then last week but won't be expecting because it is the end of PMS week and I am going into TOM.

    Lynn
  • Hey there gang,

    Annie,
great job on getting all the swimming you are allowed, it is so much fun and so relaxing to do. I think I would have avoided the park with all the kids too. You are doing awesome, only two pounds, you have got that in the bag girl. Then on to your next goal right?

    George,
thanks for the tip on the soda. Hope you are doing well.

    Lynn,
Prouf of you!! I can't even imagine doing squats with these old rickiddy knees of mine. So I am cheering you one. How low can you go??? Hope your measurements go well.

Rat, Sharon, Nancy, just to name a few, missing all of you.

I have been doing great. Another WI tomorrow and I will keep you posted, good or bad. I am excited, next week I get to meet one of my friends here from 3fc face to face. I know will have a grand old time. I will tell you all about it.

    Love to you all,
    Ags
  • oooh Ags I'm jealous! living in England I don't get to meet up with 3FC-ers, except Ammi who used to post on here, she lives in Wales, and luckily her hubby has family near me. Hope you have a great time, take pics & post them on here please! How is your husband doing? I hope he's healing nicely and not too stressed.xxxx
Annie, kids & water CAN be fun or mayhem, depending on how you're feeling! lol. FABAROO!!! on only needing a few lbs to fit into 14s, I think they're a 16 in the UK, I need LOTS of lbs before I can get in that size. I KNOW you will do it, after all that you've been through; and you've NEVER given up; you DESERVE it! xxxxxx
Lynnie when you're stronger you ought to try the side squats, they KILL your inner thigh as well as bottom, quads and core muscles. Hope you have good measurement/weigh-in numbers.xxxx
I'm exercising staying OP and eating SO much fruit, lol! I missed it on low carb. I don't know if it's my imagination but my tummy is looking smaller and my jeans are feeling looser, I get weighed on Thursday so I'll see then. We had a bbq on Sunday, APRIL!!! lol In the UK it's usually rainy in April, but it was hot! My sis, her three boys and my hubby's brother came, I stayed OP, no beer, just diet coke for me! I had homemade chicken skewers and 1 brown pitta bread & vegetable rice and salad, I was quite proud of myself, especially when I made icecream sandwiches (with chocolate covered wafers) for everyone, except me!
I saw my Dr. yesterday, she's trying me on a different HRT as I'm so low most of the time and Prozac isn't helping, plus I'm getting monster sweats. I have two more weeks to finish this pack, I'm really hoping it works coz I'm sick of feeling tired, irritated and agitated & hot all the time.
We've got a bike, a new one, but it has a few delivery scuffs, hence it's low price, roll on Sunday when Steve will take us out & teach me to ride!! My Mum said you won't fall far, so don't be scared! I told her I'll have knee and elbow pads, helmet and a cushion strapped to my bottom, just in case, lol!
Well exercise and tidying up are calling, I also have to go to school to meet with Gareth's teachers & specialists about his progress (annual revue)
    xxxxx sharon
  • Sharon,
    What are side squats?

    Hello ladies,
I am sorry I haven't been around in the past couple days but its TOM and I feel absolutely horrible. That night of no sleep really took a toll on me and my body and I am sure that after this week I will be in tip top shape again. But please bear with me and know that I am thinking of yall and hope you are doing your best.

    Lynn
  • Hi Everyone,

Lynnie: Good for you on the squats and weights. that is wonderful

Ags: That 2 lbs is seems to be taking such a long time. lol. I hope your weigh in was fantastic! How fun to meet someone face to face. I can't wait to hear who it was and how it went. I met someone from 3fc that used to come here face to face. Her name was Toni and it was so nice to give her a real hug and encourage her Have a good time.

Sharon: When I swim I am not in the mood to do anything but burn calories usually. I love to swim and take it seriously lol. I hope that your weigh in on Thursday is a great one! Have fun on the bike. I hope Joel will let me do some slow and easy riding this year.

Well, I have weight loss support group tonight so I better head on out of here now.

love and hugs and blessings to you all,
    Annie

you are definetly getting into tip top shape!!!!! Hip hip whorayyyy!!!! Hope you have a great night's sleep and if you need, I can take a hit out on TOM!!!! LOL LOOL

    Annie,
I was so excited to go get WI and but I did not go because I woke up to swollen legs and ankles that you would not believe. It was my own fault though now I have thought it threw. I have eaten well all week and last night I decided to have another good night......I had Alaskan Crab legs and what I should have done was bought them and then took homeand cooked them myself, but it was late, I had them to steam them there and I never even thought of the seasonings they use when they steam them, probably Old Bay and that is way to much salt for me anytime but especially the night before WI.....................therefore, I will be WI on Thurs and drinking water like I am a bottomless pit..................Watch out......I think I will be peeeing all night long. If it works, then let me pee, let me pee, let me pee!!! LOL LOL
Sorry Gent's, TMI I am sure.

Well darling, that is it for me,
    see ya later gators,
    Love ya,
    AGs
  • Hello my Peeps!

Still here and still hanging in there. I have been stress eating badly due to the gov't potential furlough because I wasn't sure how I was going to pay for everything. Bleh.

Annie, w00t for swimming!! Sure you are being good and not overdoing it? hehe.. Just checking. I want you around for at least another half century.

Sharon, Bosskity sends purrs and hugs. Congrats on your WI!!

Hugs to all the new lurkers!!!

  • Greetings all! I have been around, but mostly lurking. I mostly read the site at work and things have been busier (or at least more distracted) than usual.

I have decided I need to go to a dietician because my blood sugar is all over the place. I want to make sure I am doing the right things in regard to eating. I have been keeping really low carb and am really happy about that. I just realized that I haven’t eaten any bread or anything sweet in almost a month, with no major struggle.

I’m still waiting for spring and hoping it decides to come this year. It is my favorite time of year (hmm, or is that fall?) and I hope we don’t end up skipping it and moving straight to summer. I am trying to keep busy with other things and started taking a ceramics class and I have a boardgaming night on Friday. Things are good. Although I still would like to get to the gym more than I have been. That’s a work in progress.

It’s more than a week away, but I need to start to prep myself for a visit to my parents over Easter weekend. Going home has always been triggering for me, plus my parents are foodies who eat out a lot. However, I want to use this as an opportunity to make strides, rather than fear it. Fear is not a good tool for me.

    Nancy,
I hope that you will be able to stay on track even though you maybe going out a couple times for dinner or one of your meals. Just remember on menus there are alot of choices.

    Lynn
  • Hiya Peeps!

Nancy, good to see your typeface . When visiting my family, I have to gear up my mind to take each thing said and done as if each was intended with the upmost of love. If I look for the negative, I usually find it. You are doing great on low carb and you can make wonderful choices going out to eat! I've been on a gluten-free diet for over a year and seem to always be able to find things to eat in a restaurant. If I tell my family "it makes me feel icky when I eat that", they seem to understand and not push.

Ok, confession time. I've been having a horrid time keeping my cpap mask on at night and am not sleeping well. I'm sure stress has been contributing to it all. Well, I got up early to get my iron infusion and got home 2.5 hrs later (they were really busy and the infusion takes an hr). Well, I go to the potty and see that (ready?) I've had my pants on backwards for 2.5 hrs!!! Yes, backwards!! LOL. AND, didn't notice. Oiy. They are stretchy black pants with an elastic waistband that I wear to work with no pockets. I decided that I was tired enough to take the rest of the day off.

    Hugs to all!
