When I first read about this, I thought the same thing. Can't quite remember the exact timing though but it would make sense.

The journals were replaced by the blogs several years before the sale.

Yes, that's right but those who chose to continue using the journals over the blogs did so until the very end (earlier this year), which was sometime after the blogs were introduced. In order to keep "journalling" you had to make sure that you didn't lapse on signing in. 30 days of inactivity was the deadline.

I'm still having a really hard time getting these pages to load. Will this get better soon?
