Arabella have a wonderful woggle, meditation and yoga. What type of yoga are you doing? Is this new for you? Are these the things you did to lose 31 lbs.?

I am sitting here looking at a tape "Yoga for Dummies Intermediate". I will watch today with expectations of performing with the tape tomorrow and each day after. I'm looking forward to the great stretch you can achieve with some of these movements. Not sure what's on the tape yet. "It's all good!"

skinnydip, I've actually been doing yoga (off and on) for over 30 years. I started when I was about 18. It's amazing what it does for your whole self. Hatha yoga, it is.

What I've done to lose the weight is trying to eat healthily, mostly cutting out sugar, wheat and processed foods. I go to WW and mostly adhere to the Core program. It's taken me about 10 months to lose the 31 pounds, though, so you can tell I've fallen off the wagon a few times. I do find it's much easier to cut out difficult substances than it is to limit them. I truly think that there's physical addiction involved with sugar and wheat.

That, combined with exercise, is how I've gotten to this point, 1/3 of the way to goal. Hoping the next 2/3 will go much more quickly than the first one!

Will indeed get together with brother, his wife, two sons and wives and grandkids (from Texas and NC). Maybe his daughter is here as well. Don't know. Plus sister and hubby and another brother. All coming tomorrow for get together. Probably will invite another nephew to stop in though he's already seen them.

My regret is I didn't think ahead enough to work out something, however brief, for DS when he was up. Just a handshake all around would have been enough. He hasn't seen any of them for years and just seemed so bummed about it. He'll be travelling to Alaska on business next summer but don't know if he'll be able to work out a trip to the part where they are. The sister who now lives mostly in TX moved to Alaska 45 years ago - still goes back in summer but that's now only to see family. Bro's been there 20 years or so. For him it's heaven as he loves the fishing and hunting, etc. But I've heard all the down sides too. Never been there but have seen some beautiful video. And pictures of moose in his backyard, etc.

Was in Princessville again. Saw surgeon while there and will be arranging foot surgery for March. Will spend at least two weeks with DD and won't be able to drive for a total of 6 or 7 weeks. NOT looking forward to the challenges.

Doing Thanksgiving here next week so best get on that too. Must send DIL info on the neighborhood Turkey Trot. She and DS like to do that one. They're heading to VA Beach for a run this weekend. I'm so thrilled with how healthy (and slim) she has my baby.

Well, up and at the day. Not to be too bad today compared to what just was and what's coming. A luncheon at church and then figuring out what to feed this group tomorrow. Fortunately they're not fussy.

yes, ceara, I was glad I went. It was a simple ceremony, some lively band music (mostly marches) and a simple but delicious dinner. Was proud to have handsome son with me as well (we always like to show off our kids) and he must have been very sick of people telling him he was a xxxxxxxx (my family name). Probably if he went to his dad's hometown, people would say he was a xxxxxxxxx(dad's family name). Of course, they'd be wrong.....A few teardrops but not too many.....

Day 3 3for3 already met 20 min mile goal. But Consistency is the real Challenge.

Hello all!

Hope all are well! Welcome Skinnydip!

I try again today .... that's a good motto....

DH 's been to the doctor again as a large cyst on his back became infected.
He was on antibiotics to clear the infection so the cyst could be removed.
After the 10 days of drugs, he noticed he what he thought was flu like symptons w/ fever on the 2nd day. Third day, we noticed the cyst was very, very red. The primary doctor drained the cyst and today a surgeon will ( hopefully) "clean out" the cyst. Interesting how when another doctor makes the appt for you, things can move very quickly.
DH's taking strong antibiotics again which I am trusting will kill the infection.


Always something and another reminder how even Type II diabetes makes everything a little bit more complicated.......


The concert sounds excitng Wood Nymph..... Ceara, I can picture all the little ones watching you w/ big eyes turn the pages of your big book....
Anagram.... your DS sounds like a real sweetie.....

I haven't been here much lately and am hoping WSW is feeling better....

As always.... the one thing for sure about my current job is that I miss spending time here during lunch.... BUT that only means, although I'm not posting, you are all in my thoughts....

Hello all....

Well. Dh has come home with a monster bandage that is enormous with the packing it is covering.....
We will visiting nurses coming to change the change the bandage and packing and to irrigate the cyst area.... DH is not allowed to go to work at the soonest, next Tuesday and that will only be decided after his visit back to the doctor on Monday.
He is on an entirely different antibiotic as from the extent of the infection, the first antibiotic was doing nothing.
DH also has pain killers as it was promised once the novocaine wears off he will need them.

So...I did a very fast run thru the main rooms .... washed the entry way floor, and glory, glory, even picked up and tossed things that really should go.
Either not working well, chipped, torn, etc..... still usable but not really....
Time to just let them go! Amazing how motivation from a different angle can free up all those "might use this somehow later" thoughts.....

skinnydip..... many of us only come by when we can.... please don't feel you will be letting any one down....
