Welcome to the forum, Rachel. Its great to have you here.
Calamity, I'm sorry to hear about the power outage. That was really great of DTG to offer you a credit. I'm impressed. Congrats on your weight loss!

Welcome, SleepyJean. I just signed up too for the low carb plan. My first shipment is coming today! I'm a littler nervous to be honest. I know I have a problem with portion control so I'm expecting the first few days to be a little hard. Congratulations on your weight loss. 7.5 lbs is fantastic and so motivating!

Well, I got my food and the first day was much easier than I expected. I really loved the andouille sausage I had for lunch. I didn't love the cumin salmon as much but it was still good. Neither seemed liked diet food!

Sammyann - the food tastes so good, you forget your dieting, and it makes it so much easier to adapt to the smaller portions when what you do have is excellent!
Calamity - that is awesome that Diet to Go gave you credit for your food. I don't believe there's another company out there that would have done that. I read the 'terms and agreements' that you had to sign with another diet deliver service, and their attitude was....once FedEx picked it up, it was between you and FedEs...so you KNOW they wouldn't have covered your loss. They ROCK, I'm telling ya!

FYI: Answer about fat grams on Diet to Go site
Anyone think the fat content in LoCarb is high?
Submitted by TerriP64 on January 23, 2010 - 10:02pm.
My biggest question after seeing and eating the food, and looking at the nutritional info is...where are those high fat grams coming from? Example - The Beef Short Ribs in Creamy Mushroom Sauce shows 609 calories and 53 grams of fat! The short ribs (which had an awesome flavor and texture!) weighed 2 oz! It was accompanied by a few bites of veggies (asparagus or broccoli...i can't remember)...I've been logging food into SparkPeople.com for a loooong time, and the figures just seem a bit off. I'd really like some info on the fat nutrition info, as it seems 2 ounces of beef and 1/4 cup of sauce (unless maybe it's pure lard?) could not have that much fat. Same question for the Prime Rib w/Red Wine Sauce. Looking at the ingredients, I see more sugar (in the sauce) than I do things that would equal 45 grams of fat. Anyone?

the fat grams does seem wrong -- we're re-checking

here is what I've learned about the short ribs and prime rib dinner:
Here is the info.
Beef short rib
Total fat25g
sat fat 10g
Creamy mushroom sauce
Total fat 7g
sat fat 4.5g
This meal seems to be off. I am currently going over the nutritionals. When I am finished analyzing low fat I with do low carb, but this meal does seem to be off.
Wine sauce
total fat 4g
sat fat2g
Prime Rib
19g total fat
But we de-fat the prime rib probably bringing the total fat to 9-10g so this meal also would be wrong.

I had the Chimichurri Salmon for dinner tonight...it was delish! I had never had salmon before (ok, I had fried salmon croquettes/patties growing up) starting the Diet to Go Low Carb...now I LOVE it! The chimichurri sauce was great....spicy! And I could have eaten a whole tray full of the asparagus that came with it.
How are you other Diet to Go folks doing? I've lost 6 lbs in 10 days. I'll take it!!

Terri, 6 lbs is great! Keep up the good work. I only just started on Thursday and cheated with a Margarita Saturday night and dinner at a reasturant. I did order well I think; steak and shrimp with asparagas and zuchini. The shrimp did have some light bread crums on them which I didn't realalize when I ordered them. So this is my long way of saying I've lost 1 lb, lol. I'm happy with that though, really. I know the weekends and going out with friends is going to be hard and mess up my results. I need to learn how to say no to the drinks.

Hello all! Well, I've been a creeper on this thread for about a week and finally took the plunge and ordered my low-fat DTG this weekend. Everyone is so helpful on here, it's nice to hear the un-biased opinions on everything. I'm a big yo-yo-er on weight loss so I'm hoping this is going to help me get into a nice groove and lose a little weight before Apr (chick vaca to Mexico!). My friend is doing Nutrisystem and I just can't seem to bring myself to order all the processed/MRE-like foods! Hopefully my order should be here by Thurs latest. One question... I have seafood allergies and when I spoke to CS today, they are subing the seafood dishes but I have to pay for the subs. Does anyone else have this problem? Thanks and happy weight loss!!

Hi hutsella!
Glad to have you join us - I think a lot of us were lurkers for a while too.
What great motivation you have, that vacation - it's sounds like loads of fun, I bet you can't wait!
Sorry, don't have any problem with seafood ( I'd be in big trouble if I did, living in New Orleans!) but have made subsitutions for a couple of things I wasn't crazy about, the girls in CS always take good care of it.
Now that you're here, please join in and let us know how it's going - I'm sure you'll be pleased with the plan.
All the best,
Lee
