I ordered an assortment of miracle noodles off Amazon last night to try. It isn't good (for my wallet) that Amazon sells EVERYTHING!

Michele~I'm addicted to Amazon! Currently I'm getting most, if not all, of my pet food from them and most gifts are coming from them as well. So funny when a box arrives from UPS--I rarely remember what I've ordered! It's almost never for me, but it's like Christmas opening the box! I meant to order some Miracle noodles, will have to do so soon.

Me too! I get so many boxes at home it's ridiculous. Sometimes I order books for my library at school so whenever dh asks why we're getting so many boxes, I tell him they're mainly for school!

I just got a wonderful compliment-- a teacher complimented my dress and said it looks nice on me because I'm thin and it compliments a thin person (it is form fitting). Love it!

I've been away for a time, snowed under with work and other issues. Still on track. Made it through turkey day mostly unscathed.

We've been experimenting with the konjac fiber noodles also. Trying different brands. We really like them in stir-fry with a little curry bean sauce we make.

Ordered some konjac powder a couple years ago to make a sort of fake rice following a recipe I'd seen. Was vaguely palatable, but not great. The noodles are much better, if a bit pricey.

I tend to stay away from "artificial" foods. Though I suppose all noodles are manufactured - we don't pick them off trees or pull them from the ground.

Not sure why, but I seem to have eased firmly into the middle 140's. I haven't seen a 150 since 10/15. Yesterday, the scale bounced between 144.5 and 145 before picking 145 - my first taste ever of a 30# loss. It's messing with my head, making me want to push things to see that real number. I know it's counterproductive thinking - slow and steady has been working just fine. I'm snagged and distracted by "what-if's".

That means that you have a true loss-- congrats! Slow and steady has definitely been working for you! Try not to let the other voices get inside your head.

Up 1.8 pounds from Wednesday, which seems like a shot ringing out a warning not to celebrate too prematurely. Since that weigh in, I've been stressed and miserable, believing that analysts handing in their writing assignments late were leading us to fail to make a major deadline today. Then, finally, I looked at a calendar and realized the deadline is NEXT Friday. Which still isn't good. But I'm in better shape than I'd thought. The thing now is to keep working & not blow the extra days. The easing of the stress almost always leads to my dropping a little weight. I don't know if I eat less, or sleep more, or what. But there's a direct correlation. Except if the stress is truly monstrous, and then I abruptly stop eating.

saef, you have had an incredibly stressful two years, not only floods and their aftermath to deal with but a stressful job, too. Have you thought of taking some time off, go someplace and do nothing perhaps on a nice warm beach ? I recommend it for you.

And, while I did make it to and thru Thanksgiving without scale drama, overeating/tons of hand to mouth and back into bowl/being physically uncomfortable due to overeating, is my life, these past few days.

Need a detox from re-emerging bad habits and unhealthy food choices. So, here I am...

Aim to check in daily. Aim to chart every Bite, Lick, and Taste. Aim to AVOID foods I know can trigger me. Aim to weigh in tomorrow- it will be B.A.D.

I made the "miracle" noodles tonight. Quite good actually and I have leftovers for tomorrow's lunch.

I performed an unscientific experiment yesterday. I always say (and many others here to as well) that I am sensitive to sodium. I weighed 124 yesterday morning, and was debating what to do for dinner. I was thinking I would go to Panera and have a salad and soup-- yes, there would be sodium but I choose very low cal and don't usually see a gain on the scale when I have Panera. I was really craving this amazing local place though and went there instead-- I had a small cup of chili and a chicken pesto sandwich-- I'm sure the calories and fat were much higher but it wasn't a huge meal, nothing was fried, etc. My weight this morning was 126.6. I know I didn't eat an extra 9000 calories! Now I'm going to see how long it takes the 2.6 pounds to disappear.

Yesterday I also took our mini cooper to the dealer because the trunk was opening by itself. While looking at the trunk, they realized the bottom of the trunk was FULL of water-- like the car had been flooded! They think the two issues are unrelated and that there is likely an issue with the convertible top leaking. I'm just glad it was raining so they happened to catch it. I now have a loaner mini until they can figure out my car/ dry it out/ check for electrical issues, etc.
