Zelma - No I didn't get to see them lance his thumb, he wouldn't let me go in with him. They numbed the thumb with two injections and then cut. He said he could still feel it so they had to give him some more anaesthetic.

I am sorry your hubby had to have an abscess lanced before and that you had to see him suffer. I am kind of glad I didn't go in with Daren, I think he would have been stronger without me in there lol.

Tasha - I am sorry that you need to go back for another mammogram. Take hope from the fact they aren't rushing you straight back for the appt. We all worry when there is an abnormality that it will be cancer, I pray it isn't that, but remember the survival rates of breast cancer when caught early enough are brilliant. BUT let's just hope it's something less sinister, like a cyst. Try not to worry too much


Brenda - sorry to hear you are feeling unwell, with Kayley that makes 3 of us. It's obviously the time of year. I hope you will be much better soon.

Catherine - the Internet is amazing isn't it. I met Daren via the Net too and will be forever thankful for that. We didn't live close so there would have been no chance of coming across each other in a shop or anything.

Crock - hello my friend, sorry about the other night on Yahoo, I still have no idea what happened. I hope we can chat again soon. Ooooh could you send me a link that that puppy screensaver, I think that would be wonderful to have.

Hello My Chickies!

Just a quick note today. Tired, Tired, TIRED! I'm seriously thinking about going home after my 10:30 hearing. No reason to really and it means taking sick leave when I'll just be working from home...but home is where I want to be!

Zelma: Had someone send me a PM and ask if I had before and after pics and I don't, but I gave her the link to yours for inspiration. Hope you don't mind. They really are great photos. I agree that the one of you and your husband is wonderful...you look great in it! Sorry to hear about the over-exercising thing. I suspect that's a problem I'll never have...I'm incredibly lazy. We get the eliptical today, but I doubt I'll get to try it until tomorrow. I'll be out late today working a conscession stand for a fundraiser for a group I belong to. In a way I'm really looking forward to getting it. In another I'm dreading no longer having an excuse for lack of exercise. Like I said - lazy.

Tasha: Waiting for tests is the WORST! I have a pitutary tumor that was diagnosed years ago. I just take meds to keep it from growing...no big deal...but the two weeks I had to wait to see a specialist, after being told my MRI of my brain was abnormal, were the two most stressful weeks of my life! I'm sure you will be fine. TRY to be calm and patient, but don't put yourself down if it gets to you!

Catherine: I'm definately going to try making pancakes! YUM! We always bought the instant, just add water, type of pancake mix...like I said - lazy - but I've used applesauce in brownies. I never even thought about making applesauce pancakes, but I'm doing it this weekend for sure! I'm sure I have a from-scratch recipe somewhere. I just have to figure up a way to know the calories, etc.

Christineu-TOPS has no problems with you missing meetings. If you know ahead of time what days you will miss just tell the wt. recorder and they will right you down excused for that day.

Foe my self I feel just....... . I have weighed 332 all weekend, eat the right foods, keeped busy. Now this morning I get on the scale and Iam at 336. I have been working soooooo hard. I just want to cry. I steped on a huge stone hiding in my little girls sweater that was on the floor yesterday and now my foot is all brused and my hubby just left for the morning work out with out me. I am sorry that I am so down I just need to tell some one.

Shelly ~ don't get down about what the scales say. You are probably just retaining water for one of hundreds of reasons. If you did everything "right" then it is the scales that are "wrong"

I am sorry you are down today, but I really think that 6 lbs could be water weight or who knows, but just keep doing everything right and then that weight will go away!

As for me I have some news.. some blah and some Yay!

first, for the blah news. The cardio says my iron numbers are unchanged! They upped my iron pills to 2 a day and want me to take them with Orange Juice so they absorb better.

The yay news:
Hubby is currently the assistant manager at a local Shell station (yes, not glamorous but he only drives like 2 blocks to work each day and it pays the bills) The current manager is wanting to be the assistant instead and we are hoping that hubby gets the job! We really need the money! Well, the big boss is coming down Wednesday to talk to hubby. That is a huge deal! Hubby has worked there for years and has NEVER met the big boss.. so that shows you how much of a big deal this is. Wish him luck!

Actually, they did want me in right away for the second test, but I can't get my referral for about two days so I couldn't go -- I would've gone today if possible. I have to drive back to the town where I used to live so it's going to require a 45-minute trip each way (they said I must to go back to the same place). Thursday also was the only appointment time I could get that would allow me to be back in time to pick up hubby from work (he has no other way).

My mom had a mass of tumors removed from her (same) breast when she was younger than me, but they weren't cancerous (thank God). I'm going to try not to let it bother me, but it just stresses one out by its nature in general.

Someone asked me how work was going ~ it's still very bad. In fact, my bosses p*ssed me off so bad today that I said "I'm sick" and went home. I've been on the Internet looking for jobs. Unfortunately, there aren't any. (I hope nothing is wrong me so I don't have to stay on where I'm at for the medical insurance.)

Also, I just filled out paperwork for the Board of Physicians in the state where I live to complain about the doctor I went to Thursday. I don't know if they will take it seriously or not, but I did it just the same! I also called my insurance company and changed doctors!

Well, like I said, I'm having trouble with wanting to eat. I think I'm going to go lay down so I won't be entertaining any ideas like that! (To save me from myself.)

Sigh.

I'm new to the forums, including this one, and wanted to say hello. I've got a difficult path ahead of me, but one I know I share with so many others. My current weight is 330, and my goal is 150. I have my 44th birthday on March 5, so if I can lose a pound or two by then, I will be happy.

I would like to set a goal for July 10, which is a trip my husband and I are taking to Las Vegas, but I am not sure what would be realistic. At this point, I am just starting on my weight loss plan, counting calories, and I'm not sure what to realistically expect for myself. I haven't started exercising at all yet, but hope to begin walking daily.

I look forward to "meeting" all of you!
