Iwillbe! Thank you for asking! I have had a really busy busy weekend, with the graduation. Everything really hit me yesterday, just before I got up to do the speech. It was a truly wonderful day, although I was stunned at how many people who I had never met in my life before came up and congratulated me, and one woman told me that I was an inspiration to her. Me, an inspiration?? The vice-chancellor of the university said some lovely words about me in his speech too, and then talked to me afterwards. My brother wanted to get some photos of him, and in the middle of it he pretty much offered me a phd scholarship(!). My head was spinning.
After the graduation and photos, we went out for lunch and people in the restaurant kept coming up to me and introducing themselves (as they had been at the graduation) and exclaiming on the medal and how I had succeeded despite studying as a single mother of 4 kids. One guy about 60 just walked up to me and said "You deserve the Victoria Cross!!" (the highest award for service in the armed forces that is available in Australia)
It was truly a day to remember.
