  • Thank you for recognizing my pain, Ruth.

A tea party WOULD be nice! I did one once for a baby shower. (damned babies) We can have little cucumber sandwiches. And scones. With cream and jam. And coffee in the fancy cups.
  • AND MARMITE SARNIES!!!!!!
  • There will be NO Marmite at MY tea party.
(what the **** are Marmite SARNIES!?)
  • Does she mean SAMMITCHES?
  • Sure she does! The Beatles talk about sarnies in A Hard Day's Night, sandwiches - I think it is in the cocktail party scene with all the reporters bothering them, and they don't get any sarnies.

    Hee hee!

    Lidian
  • YUP!!!

FINE ELLIS!! I'll bring my own and add it to the cucumber sandwiches!!!!

And then I'll BREATH ON YOU!!!!
  • FINE!!!
  • You ought to hear the shrieks of horror when DH makes himself a little Marmite sarnie! My delicate daughters yell as if a tiger had suddenly leaped onto the table. Me, I don't really like it but I have been with DH for 18 years (married 15) so I am kind of used to it!

The girls and I WOULD prefer those cucumber sarnies though! And little cakes, please.

We would be delighted to bring some delicate strawberries & blueberries along too, as our contribution!

    Lidian

(The Marmite eaters may sit at their very own table! Tee hee)
  • Delicate strawberries and blueberries will be lovely, Lidian.
Yes, the Marmite eaters can sit at a wee little table with the kiddies.

My MIL once made one of those "sandwich cakes". The kind where you get a loaf of bread sliced horizontally and spread each layer with a different spread. Then slice it vertically. I always thought those things were tacky, but it was kind of good.
  • I love tea party sandwiches and so does my sister. When Mum died, we had a family "situation" because Joan wanted to have Mum cremated at a certain place where they make little tea sandwiches for the reception afterwards. We jumped on her because Mum had clearly stated she did not want cremation! For once, Joan didn't win an arguement!

My TA-DA for today is that I bought myself a chaise after Church and am going to go out there and lie on it right now! Wake me up for dinner, OK? (or for tiny sandwiches!)
  • Yup!! And I'll be over at the kiddie table corrupting the youth and helping them become...LIFETIME MARMITE FANATICS!!!!!!!
  • Hmmm... on second thought girls, we're going to dress her in a black dress with a frilly white apron. And put a tea tray in her hands. There's no damned way she's going to corrupt anyone at OUR party. (I can read your mind, Den... you're going to slip us all Marmite Sarnies while we're occupied in trivial conversation.)

Ruth, I'm so glad you finally got yourself a chaise! Hope it's cozy!

My ta-da for yesterday was to buy some tupperware. VERY exciting, I assure you.
  • I drank a lot of water today. For once! Ta- da!

    Lidian
  • Me too, Lidian! (it's hot as **** here... I've been drinking ALL day!)

AND I went to my DD's grad, which was a big Ta-da because I had to find something to wear. And it SO hot during the ceremony. Soooooo hot.

Oh damn... and I washed all the sheets, and haven't remade the kids' beds yet. damn...
  • YAY ELLIS' DD!!!!!!!!
