Cinco De Mayo dawns sunny and should warm to the 60's today. Good I hope it melts this crapp. We have several large tree branches down around the property. A few more cracked since the storm. DH will have a lot of yard work to do including a tree that needs to be hacked up enough to haul back into the woods. But that's ok, it's getting nice outside - no one minds being out there.
Was going stir crazy in the house yesterday so we stopped off at the library. I talked to a librarian about the missing/found book and she was the absolute sweetest thing. She said they are very short handed and apologized and took my name and number to have someone in charge talk to me about being reimbursed for the replacement book I purchased. No need for that - seriously - it wasn't that much money at all, was the principal of the thing. I will just make sure going forward that my books are checked in. She did say if the person checking in books goes fast and doesn't wait for the beep, it's possible to "skip" a check in. Then we went out for a burger lunch and stopped by at my cousins and visited for a while. They smoke and since we were all smoked up, we decided to go to the casino for a while. No luck for either of us - spent our small budget, played their money and came home around 9. We showered and DH made us a nice light supper of scrambled eggs, ham and toast. I had sliced avocado also because they are in abundance right now and I just love them. I started to read a bit of Steven King's book 11/22/63. DH could not get into it but I think it's because of the way it started out. It did grab my attention. He also liked The Kitchen House that I had also picked up. I have neglected my other online class on Wordpress - probably because it's not as interactive as the writing classes but I need to get back on that again. I guess I will do a few pick up around the house things and then go shovel some of the extra snow off the deck just to get outside for a bit and get some fresh air. DH talked about going to the next town to the home improvement store but if we go I would like to go to the great Mexican restaurant they have there and seeing as how it's Cinco De Mayo - they might be and probably will be very busy there today. So maybe we will go tomorrow after I stop and get my orthotics.
Annie - geez - poor C works awfully long and hard. Are you saying that the sub did not deliver all the product he was supposed to so C had to eat (no pun intended) the profits? I am sorry your throat is all scratchy. Sometimes it seems there is food that does that too - I find there are times when it feels like I swallowed shards of glass - something that irritates the tissue and makes it feel like hundreds of tiny scratches. Not sure what to recommend - some cool yogurt or a salt water gargle. Hope it goes away. Maybe some chocolate pudding - or banana cream with a few banana chunks for some potassium. Head hurts again today and I have a crick from sleeping stupid as I fell off the pillow at night. It's just that time of year, I guess there is a pollen alert up this way too. Pollen? Here? What - snow pollen????
But apparently there is pine pollen from the trees although for the love of me right now in the current conditions I find that hard to believe. Anyway ... I hope you have a productive day in the rain - I'm sure you are not the napping kind. Enjoy your day with the hubster. Glad you stood your ground with the bro - don't need no family drama. Mel - so just what is it you do with the alarms? Contact the authorities, investigate the cause? Does everyone have an "I've fallen and I can't get up" type of alarm in their apartment or is it more the smoke and water type of things? It seems like there is always something going on in that building of yours. I hope you can shut the shades a get a few good hours of shut eye before Igor and Juan and Pedro show up to trip the light fantastic with you for the Cinco party. Just stay away from the firey salsa - leave that for dancing
Laura - good golly - I must echo Annie's sentiment about the hard core exercising routines you pick. You must be well on your way to iron woman by now! We're going to have to set you up at the guard shack by the entrance to the commune here as you will be the strongest one - don't worry will will back you up with brooms, shovels and tree branches

Ceejay - DH was just saying yesterday that his achy back has been far less achey since we moved up here. I think perhaps the humidity down by you was not so good for the aches and pains index. Got to start thinking about those knees before it becomes a bigger problem because they certainly limit your mobility tremendously when they hurt. More rain? That's the last thing you need with the river rising. Wait until all this snow we have here starts melting and heading your way although I'm not sure if any of our stuff feeds the Mississippi.
Hellos to Shad and Michelle - no doubt both very busy ladies. Good luck on the new job tomorrow Michelle. That came fast.
Happy Sunday chicks.

Glad to hear that Jen is on the mend - that should be encouraging to her also.

that the sump pump keeps on pumping!!
