I get 29 points a day - I rarely use all of my daily points (I am trying to get better at that) but I even used extra weekly points over the weekend and still lost weight.
I really like the WW program - I have never done the old one but the Pointsplus program allows me flexibility. I think that the old motto everything in moderation must be taken into account.. in other words free fruit does not really mean 4 bananas, 5 oranges and a bushel of grapes..although that does sound good
