THAT is awesome! I've been in that mindset on and off, time to get adventurous again - thanks for reminding me.

Wow, this thread is SO helpful in identifying bad habits I never much thought about. Yes, I always wanted the biggest piece. Also, getting my money's worth at buffets. Free food doesn't count. Secret binges don't count if you get rid of the wrappers afterward so no one will know. I can't be overweight if I don't weigh myself.

    Keep them coming!
  • I no longer clean my plate at every meal. I don't have to eat every last morsel of food in front of me to be satisfied.

I also can eat a sandwich without cheese! I have learned that when it's topped with lettuce and tomato I don't really taste the cheese anyway so why waste the calories!
  • No kidding about the cheese thing - it took me a while to come to that realization. Once you do, it's a nice feeling to know you just saved yourself probably 100-150 cal, depending on the type and amount of cheese.

    And every little bit helps.
  • I don't need dessert two or more times a day. I was having dessert at lunch, in our office cafeteria, and then a dessert in the evening, after dinner. And then a little more dessert late in the evening, like around 9 PM. And we're not talking fruit here.
