I don't so much hate the day as I am extremely annoyed by all the days preceding it and the actual day. And the advertisements. And the commercials. And the TV shows with v-day themes. And the candy in stores. And people talking about it...ever. Hmmm, well, maybe I hate it...

I never cared for it. And it's still pretty annoying, but it's an excuse for DH and I to go out for dinner and it's probably one of 4 nights a year I can get him dressed up.

We aren't even going out tomorrow. We're going tonight. The thought of being out with all the other couples makes me want to vomit.

i dont care so much about v-day. Although 2 years ago on v-day for my me and my curren fiance's secon date, he took me up to the mountains for my first time snowboarding, so that was very special.

It actually kind of upsets me, it is 4 days after my anniversary, so me and my fiance are celebrating that this weekend, and all the resteraunts are going to be crowded.. so ick!

Oh man I can't stand Vday. It's such a fake hallmark holiday. Why show your love to someone 1 day out of the year? Isn't being surprised with roses better than expecting them?? Uggggghhhh, I hate it.

Yeah so do I, and I have to work tomorrow Oh well, at least it will keep my away from all the chocolates hopefully! I still have to ring it up lol.

LoL. I'm not a fan of the day, but in the past it was an excuse to get loaded with gifts like it was Christmas and get laid multiple times throughout the day. That was always a plus. Whoo!

This year DH gave me my gifts early and then took off for training, so he won't even be here. I'm gonna watch Charlie Brown and give my cats a bath. My friend Tandy and I might go out on a spa date and get the works since we're both "single" because our men are gone. I want to go bar hopping and franchise on the single man desperation to get some free booze, but Tandy is acting like his life is over because he won't have anyone to kiss on V-Day.

So count me in for hating it too.

I hate V-day as well. This year, I am celebrating it as Singles Awareness Day with my single gal friends--So here's to a night of drinking ! and dancing!

I don't hate it, I just think it's the least romantic day of the year. There's nothing romantic about buying someone a load of garbage because you're expected to.

When it's done out of the blue with no reason, that's when it's really romantic, but just in my opinion

I like it - but then I like the excuse to buy a little token gift and then spoil my boyfriend rotten with a romantic dinner

This year I had the dining room decked out with candles and scented oil diffusers. I made roast pork with wilted asian greens (and plenty of wine) for the main with choc truffle mud cake and dessert wine for afters....diet definitely be damned for one night lol.

We do buy each other a gift, but nothing over the top. This year he gave me a hand blown glass vase and breakfast in bed and I gave him cuff links and a "man" jewelry box...so he stops losing the blasted things :P

I remember last year when me & a few of my single collegues at work decided to wear 'all black' on Vday..lol
I don't hate it but it isn't a significant day to me. I don't really care much about it really. I guess because I'm single and never really had a Vday before

My BF and I have been together for almost 10 years, we don't celebrate V-day anymore. A few years ago, while we were broke college students, he bought me a ruby ring. I cried on how ugly it was, I was offended that he thought I would like something that ugly.

I was so pissed that he spent money on a f**'n ugly custom made ring that doesn't even fit my finger. Because he spent all his money on the ring, I had to pay for the utility bills for the next 3 months. F**'n ring hasn't touched my finger since he bought it 7 years ago.

He asked a female friend to help him pick the ring, but this friend has horrible granny taste. His friend was offended that I thought the ring was ugly that she still hasn't spoken to me since. My BF should have asked my sister for advice, we have similar taste on bling.

lol that's a funny story redflatshoe. What did you end up doing with the ring?
This valentine's day I went skiing with my bf and friends, it was fun but an all day thing. Then we just watched tv and got a pizza while I played with my new toy.. an ipod! woo! This was by faaar the best v-day ever, last year was okay but me and my bf got in a fight the day before so it was a bit awkward, and then every year before that was pretty much hang out with the girlfriends and watch sappy movies day lol.

I haven't spent a v-day with my DH since we were in high school lol I did get him a web cam so we can...umm...talk

When you are married or with a partner for a long time it can get pretty monotonous with life getting in the way (kids, work, school, etc) & romance getting to be where it is pretty much non-existent. I think of this day as a gentle nudge to pay a little more attention to your relationship instead of taking it for granted.

As for the singles...I promote it as a day to love yourself Who says it needs to be a holiday for couples??
