Losing a size

  • Yea, it does depend. I have lost 33 lbs total, and I"m still wearing the same clothes. They fit a little better, but I can't imagine buying a pair of 22 pants and having them fit nicely yet. I will be estatic when I get out of the 20's and into the teens size. But that may be another 50lbs or so
  • I love that, jillybean!
  • I think I will have to lose another 15-20 lbs before I see a size change....as someone else said I am wearing a 15 but its tight and I just refused to by a bigger size (silly)...so I've lost 12 and things feel more comfortable but I dont see a size change coming for awhile....this is what I remember about my weight vs pant size

    200 15/16
    150-145 11/12
    135-140 9/10

I have a large chest and defined waist ..very hourglass...so I always wear a Large top ...when I was 135 ish I could wear M tops
  • Heh. Down 40 pounds and still in same pants. Of course, I couldn't bring myself to wear them at the beggining cause they were so tight, and now they hang off my bum like a loaded diaper, but... hey I figure I'm not wasting money this way.
  • It took me about 20ish pounds to go from a 9/8 to a 7/6 (although I don't know how those 9's fit, I should have been in an 11/10) and then probably 10 to go from a 7/6 to a 5/4 and now I can normally do a 3/2 depending on the brand (in Target women's jeans the 2's are even too big ).

It also depends a decent amount on brand and body type. I have the hips of a 12 year old boy so I'm generally smaller in pants than tops than other people might be even if we weighted the same and were the same height.

Yeah, I doubt even my skeleton could wear a size 2, since I have fairly substantial hips. It really is all about the shape, isn't it?
  • Yep, I've lost 20 pounds and haven't gone down a size. I've noticed my clothes fitting better, though, so I was probably wearing them too tight before. Some of my pants and jeans are pretty baggy now, but I've tried on a size smaller, and can't quite get them buttoned. I figure in 10 - 15 more pounds I'll be down a size.
  • Here's how it worked out for me:

    212-190 size 18/20
    190-180 size 16
    180-170 size 14
    170-160 size 12
    160-150 size 10/8

Now granted these sizes fit the best in between those weights, but when I was losing I would buy things as soon as I could squeeze into them.

Sizing has a lot to do with body structure and composition, but also brands. I get so frustrated with clothing shopping because nothing is standardized. I go into a new store and I grab three sizes. I never know what will fit.
  • I feel my pants beginning to sag off my butt, and are very roomy in the legs, but I don't think they are much looser in my tummy. Actually though when I think about it I think they were tight in my tummy before and now they are actually comfortable. I dont' know, but I can't wait until I lose a size. Good job on ALL of you that have, and are doing a good job. You are great motivation!

and I have my first weigh in tomorrow. I have been working out and eating healthy for a while now, but I finally bought a scale last week, so my weight tracker probably isn't my true beginning weight because I hadn't weighed myself in over a year, very sad, and that is probably why things got so out of control.
