Do you ever throw food away?

  • Oh yes, I've thrown food away before. I can't remember ever throwing it away the moment I get home from buying it, but I buy "binge food" plenty (knowing it'll be for a binge). Normally I buy copious amounts of binge food, then go on a binger when I get home from the store. During my strong moments, I'll throw away the remaining binge food. I throw mine out in the big outdoor trashcan and I'm never tempted to fish it out later because that's where we throw the doggie-poop bags after walks.
  • I go both ways on this one. If I have have something in the house that I can't stay away from like a cake for instance, I HAVE to throw it away, unwrapped in the OUTSIDE trash can. Cakes are dangerous for me and strangely that seems to be the only thing that I have "noticed" I throw away. Other things like cookies or even protein or cereal bars, I have this weird thinking like "oh I better eat all of them, to get them out of the house and I'll start fresh tomorrow"....I can see now that wasn't to brilliant. Most things I won't bring into the house, but MAN sometimes the healthy stuff calls my name too! I've finally gotten where I really can't have ANY snacks in the house, except maybe ricecakes. I guess I'm really more out of control than I tend to admit to myself.
  • Yes.. not often but it does happen. I will buy stuff "for the kids" or like you buy something and trick myself into thinking I will just have one square of fudge.. I throw in garbage and then shove it way down- don't trust myself to not go back for it.. also flush it down the toilet.

I do feel better when I throw it away- I hate the feel out of control and buy it in the first place- or eat most of it and that "normal " people don;t have to do this to stop themselves from eating.
The money thing does creep into my head- but the few dollars it costs is not worth the feeling I would have if I hate a whole cheesecake.
