  • I remember that lovely "Turbo Cooker" that was supposed to allow you to cook 3 courses at once at the same temp... blah blah blah... Well, needless to say it became a fixture under my counter after I tried unsuccessfully numerous times...
  • A lobster? That is hysterical! There is a certain Bill Clinton Chia Head that is making the rounds at our company party - it always seems to show up every year - same one... last 3 years, it has even been in the same gift bag!
  • Tina- The lobster is an awesome idea!!! I might try it this year.

Lori - One year I 'won' the Elmer Fudd Chia Pet...I set it up on my desk... it made me laugh every day.
  • Tammie........freezer jam is YUM! I make it with strawberries. The recipe is in the Certo package, or surejell package. It is the cheaters way to homemade jam or jelly. It actually has better flavor if you ask me......tastes more like the original berries. It involves no canning.....just mush berries, add sugar, add certo, and put into freezer friendly containers. It has to stay out at room temp for 24 hours, and then pop one in the fridge for immediate use, and the rest in the freezer. I make a lot at a time, especially during berry season. My kids are spoiled and don't even like store bought jelly anymore. It is not a healthy treat by any means, but it is a real hit with the kids and DH and any breakfast company.
  • Dan it was a very small part that was on fire and I think it was the leg and it wasnt tied up very well is the main reason oh and Lori was right do not go over 15 lbs. My aunt got this turkey and i had no clue how much it weighted so we guessed and I am thinking it was over 15 lol hence the fire. Well good cooks always burn something right!

The lobster as a gag gift is too funny!!!

I love kitchen gizmos and gadgets!

just a note about the Infrawave (I was so excited!) and the Bean--I would not recommend either. Just me but the Infrawave was a glorified toaster and I don't have the space if it's not GREAT. My main hope for it was chicken breast and yes you could put it in frozen and it be done in 30 min., but it was not any better than the oven. And the Bean--maybe because I'm not a big excercise fan anyway but it just didn't seem any different than using a ball or the floor--for me. Anyway--just thought I'd pass that along
  • Thanks for the note on the infrawave... I've been thinking about that one, but may just opt for the Showtime Rotisserie..
  • The Bean

I tried the Bean too... It lasted 2 weeks before the seam gave out, and I had a "flat" Bean. It must've happened a lot, 'cuz they just had me cut out the logo and mail it back to get a refund.
  • Quote: ...Also at the State Fair, I bought one of those sushi kits...
How does a sushi kit works? I've never seen one... I roll it the o'fashion way, with a bamboo mat thingy... a big mess, sometimes... And you're right, I haven't make any for a long time... for it is indeed SO VERY HARD to stop eating at a 'few'....
  • It comes with preformed shapes and stuff like that.. you just put the seaweed wrap in the form, fill it with whatever you want and the rice and then close the wrap.. then you put the top on the form and it presses it all together. It comes with pre-spaced slots for you to slice it with. Seemed pretty cool and still does.. I just need to find a day when Liz and I have the starches left to use it..
