That's part of my frustration with trying the lower carb thing. I know I could never try Atkins, but thought I could survive the first two tough weeks with SB...couldn't make it beyond 5. Yeah, I dropped a few pounds, but they did come back on. What was alarming was starting You: On a Diet instead, which allows fruit and healthy carbs right from the beginning, and rapidly gaining the weight back. Originally Posted by Sask

Is gaining weight back a common occurance with this program (I mean.. moreso than any other program?).
So I don't think that kind of thing is for me. But I know I can do Eating for Life/watching calories. EFL is easier in that you're just sizing up portions rather than measuring every last thing. But the calories are cut by sticking to the right portion size for each person.
Some people do great with SB and/or Atkins. I just don't think they're for me.

For me, South Beach Diet is the only thing that I can stick too!! I used it to lose 60lbs., but gained most of it back when I a. quit smoking and b. remodeled a house! So, now I'm back on it and I can really tell a difference in how I feel and I'm losing weight. Plus, this is the diet that my doctor recommended....
