I've got all my gorilla stuff packed

It's only a 1 in 6 (ish) chance of getting in to the marathon, but apparently it's not long til we find out whether we're in or not. Then time to panic!

Oh I just e-mailed him, I feel so much like all my effort tracking down a photographer and panicking about it and getting all wound up was for nothing! Bah! Anyway, I'm sure I'll get my way! It's not as if I wear a pretty white frock every day! These things must be documented you know!

What are you wearing? I thought thick running leggings, some old-ish trainers and T-shirt and Sweatshirt!

DF always likes Pizza! Although I may have to twist his arm to get him to Pizza Express, but it's near King's X so he should be ok!!!

Oh and I'm reasonably proud of myself! I just stopped myself going out to buy sticky chocolate junk since I thought I was still hungry and just a little anxious! I've just had dinner, and thought to myself "You can't really be REALLY hungry, so just have some hot chocolate." It worked!

I'm wearing the tracksuit bottoms I wore over my leggings in Amsterdam (don't have anything thicker), and I've got a short sleeve running top and a long sleeve running top (both techie ones because I'm a sad running type and don't have many non techie running tops any more) to choose between depending on the weather, with a running rain jacket for a bit of rain/wind resistance. Plus some nearly dead trainers. I will look like a running geek*, but never mind...

Frus - men don't get the same buzz/panic about weddings as us females do. DH always used to go on about how he was forced in to marrying his ex (shotgun wedding) so when he proposed I said yes but that he had to arrange the wedding - completely. (Except for my dress.)

The outcome was possibly the world's quietest ever wedding. Me, him and two people from work as the witnesses - who didn't know they were going to be witnesses - they just thought we were going out for a lunchtime drink. Even the Registrar was a bit gob-smacked. One thing, though, he did book us the most beautiful place to get married.

Helen, I was in Leeds this week and saw a running shop (we only go a couple of times a year - can't remember seeing it before...) just behind the Headrow, near where Schofields used to be. (I left Leeds in 1980, so only can describe places by saying *Where Lewis's was*, etc! Useless!) It looked good but I had my kids with me so didn't go in. Is it expensive?

That sounds like the best sort of wedding, Sarah! In July, my two best friends had their civil ceremony, after being together over 20 years. They live in Wales but chose to come to York to tie the knot, as that's where we live and they wanted just two people there - DH and my. We were their 'best man' and 'best woman'... It was the most moving ceremony I've ever been to, just the four of us. We had a little impromptu celebration in the garden afterwards - DH got a gazebo for £15 and I'd had a stab at making a layered cake, and all our kids joined in - it was the best wedding ever!

Our own wedding was also DIY - and we were broke. I got a dress for twenty qid from a hippy shop, and (we're re-enactors) all our friends surprised us by dressing up in 17thC kit and making an archyway with swords outside the Registry Office! (It got in the local paper!) The morning we got married I was too busy to be nervous - racing round making sandwiches etc,for the 'reception' back at our tiny flat. I always remember DH's uncle having no room to sit anywhere else, sitting on the bog eating his sandwich, with the door propped open so we could talk to him - he said it was the best wedding he ever went to! I find it funny people spend thousands now and the vast majority of people marrying end up divorced. Seems a waste of money to me. Far better to have a cheap jobbie, where people can be relaxed rather than stressed out. Twenty odd years on and people still talk about our wedding! You never hear anyone talk about the x-thousand quid ones they've been to since, though!

That's the new Up and Running, my favourite shop ever It's only been open for a month. (And I've already spent loads of money there...)

It's not particularly cheap, but it's all quality stuff - the running tops and leggings I got from there are so much better than the things they sell in JJB and the like, even the stuff they sell as specialist running stuff. They're particularly good for shoes - running or walking, and you can get proper treadmill analysis and advice about what is best for your running style. It's not hugely expensive either to be fair, but most things are sold at RRP rather than being discounted.

Plus I now get 10% discount there with my gym membership

Your wedding sounds like fun! I went out with a chap who was a Sealed Knot pikeman for a while (before DH) - and I went to a couple of reenactments and the following parties - OMG, those lads and lasses know how to have a good time!!!!

DH said he arranged our wedding to be quiet and very laidback because both he and I had had lavish weddings the first time around and he felt ours needed to be totally different. I think it was probably more because, at the time, we were having problems with assorted kids / his ex / and some very poisonous former 'friends' - so we sort of eloped but didn't go anywhere (if you see what I mean.) We still managed to upset loads of people and 10 years on some of my family still aren't talking to us.

We often say we'd like to go to Las Vegas and re-take our vows in a drive-thru wedding chapel with an Elvis lookalike.

We joked about a drive-thru wedding. Our parents would never forgive us!

I know it's not but we're both only children! I know my mum would never forgive us! I think she's more excited about this whole thing than I am!
