We're home from the doctor. It was an ordeal. First we went in and the nurse asked how it happened. Judd laughed and said maybe the doctor should tell you because he tells quite a good version of it! Then she said "Oh, Dr. Pollifrone has already seen you for this?" and Judd told her yes, that he did surgery on it Saturday night. Her face instantly changed and she said OMG are you the one who got ran over? She was looking back and forth at us like we were huge celebrities!

It was so funny ... She said the whole office knew about it and that she had never seen a worse break. She took off the bandages, cut the gauze off and HOLY COW!! I have NEVER seen anything like it! I was grossed out and amazed at the same time! It is HUGE and dark purple on both sides. It's still numb on the bottom of my foot but I have good range of motion already. The pain is on the sides and it's because of all the ligaments that were torn and nerves that were stretched out. The bone was broken right in half and part of it was twisted upside down, but the screw has it put back in place really good. He said over the next few months, that's the bone that we'll be watching. If the blood supply isn't restored, the bone will die and I'll either have to have an ankle replacement or they'll fuse the other bones together. He said it is definitely something we don't want to happen but there's a good chance of it.
We got me a coke on the way. All I've had today is a package of six peanut butter crackers, a coke, and a little glass of juice. Actually for the last few days I've hardly eaten anything and this morning the scale said 155 but that was with the big splint on. I'm having two corn dogs tonight and then tomorrow will get back on the Core plan. I'll probably be off work until April 10 but we'll know better when I go back to the doctor next Monday (the 3rd).
That's it for now. I'll be back as soon as I eat and rest a few minutes. Judd is going bowling tonight but if I eat before he leaves, I shouldn't need anything else until he gets home at 9.
