  • Happy New Year!!

    We all slept until around 9:30, so I must scurry to clean up this house and decide what to do about the pork and sauerkraut. Kids want to go ice skating this afternoon, so pork may go in the crockpot for dinner. After all it is already 11:00.

    DH is on the treadmill for the first time in at least 6 months. Must be part of his New Years resolution. Mine starts with the gym tomorrow. TOM is lurking and feeling half nauseated today; hopefully he'll come soon.

  • How's everybody doing this morning?

    I just had my first protein shake; a little nasty because it wasn't quite mixed up all the way so there were little lumps. My fault -- I'll go drag out the smoothie maker and make them in there from now on. The taste was acceptable though.

    Your pork and sauerkraut dilemma reminds me that I was going to look up the recipe for Texas Caviar. Here it is if anyone's interested:

    2 cans blackeyed peas (2 lbs.), drained
    1 lg. tomato, diced
    3/4 c. green olives
    1/2 c. Jalapenos, sliced
    1/2 c. red onion, diced
    1/2 c. Italian dressing

    Mix all ingredients in a large bowl. Serve at room temperature.

    Also, looks totally Core too if you use FF Italian!
  • Geez, this is annoying! Why do I cry every single time I watch "You've Got Mail?" I know how it ends, I know all about her face when she sees that it's him ... and still I just bawl everytime! Sappy!!

    I'm headed to Central Market to see if they have that stinkin' T. Marzetti's FF Dill Veggie dip. I have looked at every store in this town so now it's time to pull out the big guns and branch out.
