Woohoo on losing 41 lbs Kris!! That's fantastic!!

I hadn't seen you around in a while and I was starting to worry that you'd left the boards or something. Lots of us that started in January seem to be missing lately?

Sorry you haven't been feeling well - I hope you're on the mend
  • Hi everyone...
I have been reading the posts on here for a few days now. I joined IP last Tuesday. I am on day five today and I feel good. I did have a lot of head aches the first few days but not so much yesterday. I am so hopeful that this will be my last diet!
  • i weighed myself this morning and since monday i have lost 5.4 lbs! 178.6 to 173.4. I am very excited my week one is almost done and this ALMOST feels way too dang easy. the premades make it so much easier to do. i hate all the food and the drinks, but the premades are delicious. so, i stick to those and one bar a day (split up into two snacks)... and am alll good.

i love reading this site, not only does it make the time go by so i'm not eating... but it definitely inspires me so much more
  • Novak- I loved your detailed plan while on vacation as I am going in a month. That is inspiring and gives me determination that I can do it too. I am going to a resort that is all-inclusive. Hope that works okay.

Sophie32- congrats! It just gets easier.

MysticalMamma- That's a great loss. I hope to follow you.

Jen- I know what you mean about Mom's cooking. yesterday my mom wanted to know if I wanted a "special" muffin she had baked. I just told her lunch was coming soon and I was going to wait. Not worth trying to explain what I can eat and why.

We are going out for Easter with family. That should be good for me as I can actually get what I want instead of providing it or hoping something will be there.
  • Quote: Hey Kelsey

Good luck to you on your weigh in today!

I am in my fourth week and according to my scale at home I am chugging along with losing weight. I carry weight like a true linebacker I don't think I could even get to 135! I would be like a size 2....it is weird how each body is different. My pants (size 16) are start to be too baggy but I am going to wait until I am under 200 to buy 14's. I did buy two sweaters on sale last night in a large and they are actually really comfortable - even in the arms which are usually tight for me.

I really love the way that the weight is coming off from everywhere and not one place. I am a VERY curvy girl so unfortunatley as my waist gets small my butt looks big Oh well

Keep me posted on how you are doing and have a wonderful weekend
Honey, The small body/big butt look is soooooo IN! You will be proud to sport that look, very soon. I got on the scale this morning and was down 1.5 from where I was yesterday (my scales are of course a bit different then the drs, so I use his, but I loved mine so much this morning...) I too am in a 16W, some 16 reg, and I have some 14s, but not many. I am going on a cruise May 2, and I really want to NEED to buy some new smaller clothes!!! I don't want to shop until the last week in April though.

Hope you're having a great weekend. I'm so happy you got to buy L in tops! I know how great that must have felt. Keep up the good work. My build is very curvy as well. I am heavy proportionately. I lose pretty much the same way. I dont' care how it comes off, I just want it all off!
  • Quote: That's fantastic! I also hit 9 my first week, but I am no longer a strict vegetarian. Is your daughter using four packets a day for the protein? Just wondering if she's finding it difficult to follow the protocol...
It's not this daughter that is a vegetarian. I have 2 daughters, it's the other one, and she has not yet decided to join IP.
  • Quote: I want to share a neat NSV that made me smile. At work today, one of my co-workers was having an ice cream sandwich, she said that they were organizing ice cream sundays for next Friday, she then turned to me and asked, is there something on your diet you can bring in for yourself so you don't get left out and can participate. I started to say no and then remember, people on this forum have mentioned freezing the pudding, which I just ordered, so I told her, yes, I can freeze my pudding and then bring in wf syrups and sauces to put on it as i've just ordered the marshmallow and chocolate, more caramel as i like that, and i have strawberry syrup. It made me happy that my co workers were working to find a way I wouldn't be so tempted by the sundays, yay!! I'll probably mix chocolate and vanilla together to freeze and bring in for myself!!!
So proud of you! Last week I knew I had to cut up a huge cake from Publix for one of our guys who was retiring, and I brought in a bar (1st time I've brought in a bar to work) so that I would have something sweet to counter that cake, and even after serving more than 75 peices of cake, I walked away and had my caramel nut IP bar! It can be done.
  • Quote: I have been wanting to bring this up and have kept forgetting. This diet makes me cranky!MuayThaiGoddess mentioned it in a recent post. Wondering if anyone else has this problem and know what causes it. I am so pleased with the weight loss but really don't want to walk around in a bad mood all of the time. And you just can't figure out what's wrong...you just feel annoyed. My personality is normally prettty bubbly--and I love to laugh. Just feel kind of off-like I've been told very bad news. What's up with that???
Also, I have been using 5htp for a few years now. It has helped with appetite control a lot. And St. John's Wort is good for mild depression. Now I need To stop
the crankiness. Am I just missing my carbs?????
Yes! I have been cranky too! I also don't have a brain anymore. I can't remember squat!
  • stacerp and HopefulTricia - I'm cranky too. I feel like my mood swings go farther up and farther down on this diet. Don't know why. Trying to get happy and stay that way! Some days I am really happy but I am always sort of annoyed and have a short fuse. It's not my normal personality. I too am forgetting things. Some days I am really cranky.

But guess what? I just fixed the garbage disposal! That makes me happy. Last time the handy man came to do it, I asked him for that special little tool that he used and he gave it to me! Most of the time they just look down it and take out any large debris (or spoons as was once the case for mine!) and then they tighten and untighten the bottom part. I did it! I was sure I'd have to call them again. I am a highly-functional single woman who can fix toilets and garbage disposals! Woot!

Ah... well, when she sees how great you two are doing, she will!
  • Stacerp....LOL forgetful....that sounds like age to me!!!!
I'm right there with you, but it happened before I found the diet...
