  • Yay, Iron Law! You really aren't long for this decade, are you? Just zipping right along. Congratulations on being ten pounds down! That's a great milestone.
I love that you sound so honestly happy about your salad decision. It's really inspiring. I missed my midmorning snack because all my meetings ran long this morning so I thought maybe I'd induldge in something not so nutritious tonight because it'll fit into my calorie budget (likely honey mustard pretzels or chips or something like that... empty carbs). Now I'm thinking I'll just have my planned apple and peanut butter for dessert instead.
  • 161 today! woo hoo! just 2 pounds more & I am into the 150's which i have not seen for 5 years. =D I have some extra motivation - i am going to a super fancy ball in a few weeks so I really want to buy the cutest/sexiest/smallest dress possible. Boy am i motivated! =D good luck this weekend ladies! i am usually bummed i have to work weekends but it stops me from over eating since I eat at work like usual. no going out to dinner constantly. groovy!
  • Oooh, that's exciting! Have you been window shopping for a dress at all? What about jewelry and shoes and all that?
  • i havent gone shopping yet, but I think i will this weekend since i have some time off finally. I already have about a ton of heels so I don't think I can allow myself to buy more. I LOVE high heels! Which is funny because I hardly ever wear them, I have to wear tennis shoes at work 'cause I am constantly on my feet. I still don't know the date of the party, I hope it is late in April. My husband is not quite as excited about the event as I am... he is sad he has to rent a tuxedo; the difference between men & women. XP
  • Thanks so much, Thistle! I have more work to do, but I must say it's really nice to finally see some tangible results. I have sort of trailed off plan this week. It's spring in NYC, and that means the food trucks are out in force. How could I resist free food yesterday? Answer: I couldn't. I have my friend's wedding this weekend, and that will be a caloric splurge too. I am scared of my weigh in this week (maybe I should weigh before the wedding ).

Dolly, congrats, girl; that is great that you are so close. I can't wait to be in the 150s. It's been a couple of years for me, and I find it makes working out so much easier when I have less mass to carry. I hope you have a great time at the ball (I almost said "have a ball" LOL ).
  • Bah. Weighed in this morning at 162.6, same as last week. Usually during TOM I manage a little bit but not this time.

DollyMichelle, maybe he'll be more excited about it when he sees you all dolled up on the actual day, whenever it is. I'm sure you'll look fabulous.

Enjoy the wedding this weekend, Ironlaw! I hope you have a great time and can find that magic line between splurging but not derailing.
  • So I'm super excited that I've lost 20 pounds. Currently at 160. I put on size ten jeans today & hy actually zipped up. Can't actually wear in public though - definite muffin-top going on. But heartening news that soon I'll have a bigger wardrobe : maybe in 10 more pounds?

However today when dress shopping I put on a formal gown size 12 & while it fit from the waist down my stupid boobs are just too big. I had to get a size 14. =( I know it's just a size but it bummed me out.

Why is it that no matter how many good things are happening that one little thing brings me down so fast?!

But anyhoo, the dress is beautiful & the ball is a week from today. Im hoping to get some pictures this time. My hubby & I hardly have any pics together. He's a great photographer so he's always the one behind he camera.

Iron law - I hope you have fun at the wedding! It hard to resist all the food & drinks but a few treats won't hurt.

Thistleberry- it's frustrating when TOM hits... Sorry your're not seeing much movement. I'm in the same boat. I am super crampy & I just want to inhale every sweet & snack in a 10 foot radius right now.
  • Congratulations on the 10s!
Please don't feel discouraged about the dress. Remember that sizing certainly isn't standardized and that formalwear sizing is often very different from ready-to-wear. Don't let it get you down; you should be so proud of yourself. You have lost 20 pounds! That's over 10% of your starting weight! That's a big deal. Goodness, 5 more pounds and you'll be halfway to goal!

Is the dress loose at the waist? Could you possibly get it altered? I do alterations and though it depends on the style, generally taking something in at the waist is a snap. I know I wouldn't charge all that much.
  • Ok, this morning I weighed 170.2. This was after running and fasting some yesterday for Good Friday and not yet eating breakfast, but it gives me hope I will be back in this group very, very soon! Hope I can lose some before the bachelorette party May 26th!

Thanks Thistleberry! I appreciate the pep talk!

I think I will get the waist altered, shouldn't be too difficult. Thanks for the idea, I hadn't even thought of it.
  • Hilton head- cant wait for you to join us! Welcome!

I've got to say that the ladies on this page are awesome!
  • So after one heck of a hike yesterday and really watching my calorie intake I am in the 150's!!!! Of course it is by like .4 lbs.... But yay! =D

The best part was just being out in nature & hanging out with Chris, my husband. We hiked for 3 hours, 4.5 miles & over 1,500 feet of climbing. It was awesome because we climbed a mountain and saw the other side of it. Very cool! I'm feeling so very blessed, and I pray every one here has a great, fun, weekend!
  • Ugh...Had a little issue, bounced up to 171.0 again (was 171.6 but it's gone down over a few days time)...working my way back into the 160s...see you guys soon, I hope.
  • Thistle, Dolly, thanks for the well-wishes! The wedding was fab, and I definitely indulged, but I didn't go too nuts. Maybe I drank too much. Maybe. LOL.

I weighed before the wedding and I'm at 162! I don't dare weigh again until next weekend. I know I will be back on track by week's end. I did run 5 miles yesterday with my friend, who is back on board as my training buddy. This is really a blessing, as this woman is totally nuts. She likes to punish herself and work really hard. Love it!
  • Dolly, congrats on the 150s! Iron Law, you'll be there soon.

I have not been eating clean or working out as often as I need to be, because I've been super stressed. My husband and I just put our house up for sale, and there was so much decluttering/cleaning/staging happening that I fell off the diet/exercise wagon.

However, it's listed, and I'm headed back to the gym today! Time to eat clean too, am committing myself right now. I am at 167, had gotten down to 164 so gained 3 lbs in 3 weeks. Looks like I'll be in the 160s for awhile, but hopefully will start going down instead of up now!!!
